Lisa Madigan, Illinois Attorney General And "Candidate 2", Says She Spoke To Blagojevich Once This Year (VIDEO)

Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan appeared on MSNBC this afternoon to reiterate the fact that she preferred to keep her distance from the disgraced governor.

As Candidate 2, the Politico reports, Madigan did nothing wrong.

Her presence in the complaint:

On November 6, 2008, ROD BLAGOJEVICH talked with Spokesman. ROD BLAGOJEVICH told Spokesman to leak to a particular columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times, that Senate Candidate 2 is in the running for the vacant Senate seat. According to ROD BLAGOJEVICH, by doing this, he wanted "to send a message to the [President-elect's] people," but did not want it known that the message was from ROD BLAGOJEVICH.

Thereafter, ROD BLAGOJEVICH and Spokesman discussed specific language that should be used in the Sun Times column and arguments as to why Senate Candidate 2 made sense for the vacant Senate seat. A review of this particular Sun Times column on November 7, 2008, indicates references to the specific language and arguments regarding Senate Candidate 2 as a potential candidate for the Senate seat, as discussed by ROD BLAGOJEVICH and Spokesman.

Madigan went so far as to say that, because she knew of the corruption --and investigation-- surrounding the governor, she has only spoken to him once this year: at the Democratic National Convention.

I'm writing from this week's corruption capitol of the world and am not surpised at all that Lisa Madigan was on the list of possible candidates. I had heard weeks ago that Blago was considering her, not because he expected money from her, but because he thought she was about to indict him and wanted her out of the state. Also there were rumors that she was planning a challenge run for the governorship. By the way, Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn seems to be about the most honest person left in Illinois from either party. The Legislature needs to get together and do a expedited impeachment and get this over with.

It's clear that everyone had this guy's number. He is certifiably crazy. I don't know why Obama would endorse the guy when he ran, but I will fall back on that "fool me once, fool me twice" adage. In any case, it became clear he was a bad penny.

This is so embarrassing to live in Illinois now. I've lived here my entire life and I can't remember a time where I was so ashamed. And I am a Democrat. I actually voted for him the last time hoping that he would be impeached so that his Lt. Governor, Pat Quinn, would become governor. Of course the politicians in Illinois can't stand Pat Quinn because he is the only honest and reputable person in the whole state. He is a staunch supporter of our soldiers and was a former member of the Citizen's Utility Board which looked out for consumers. I knew a long time ago Blago would be indicted and lo and behold....­.....
I have been listening to MSNBC since 6:00 tonight and it's all about him and the corruption in Illinois and the past governors. Well at least Blagojevich isn't responsible for the deaths of 6 children like former governor George Ryan is. Sheesh. What a disaster this all is.
