Trump Tower Spire To Be Installed Saturday

The helicopter installation of the spire atop Donald Trump's Chicago tower was moving ahead Friday, with the installation scheduled to start Saturday morning--as long as Chicago's notorious winds cooperate, an executive who works with the New York real estate developer said.

"We are set to go-- except the final word is with the helicopter pilot who is keeping a close eye on the weather and wind conditions, in particular. We are awaiting his words, later this afternoon," Andrew Weiss, an executive vice president with the Trump Organization wrote in an email Friday.

Forecasts call for windy weather on Saturday and powerful south winds, 17 m.p.h. to 36 m.p.h., on Sunday. High winds could make it difficult for the helicopter to safely lift sections of the spire, now sitting atop the skyscraper's roof, into place.
