OREGON BANK BOMB

OREGON BANK BOMB

Police have no suspect or leads in a deadly Oregon bank bombing and are offering a $35,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest, investigators told a news conference Saturday.

The bomb went off late Friday afternoon inside West Coast Bank in Woodburn, Ore., killing a police officer and a bomb technician who arrived to check on a suspicious object. The police chief was seriously injured.

Spokesman Lt. Gregg Hastings said Woodburn police captain Tom Tennet, 51, was killed. The bomb technician, 51-year-old Bill Hakim, died later from injuries sustained in the blast. Tennet has been with the force for 28 years; Hakim was an 11-year veteran of Oregon State Police.

Woodburn Police Chief Scott Russell was seriously injured, according to Hastings. Russell, 46, was out of surgery at a Portland hospital and listed in critical condition on Saturday, according to FOX affiliate KPTV in Portland. He's been with the force for 20 years.

A female West Coast Bank employee was also hurt in the blast and briefly hospitalized, KPTV reported. She was treated with injuries to her ear and released Friday, but the bank didn't disclose her name out of respect for her privacy.
