Sick Meryl Streep To Letterman: "I Was Afraid To Cancel" (VIDEO)

Meryl Streep appeared on Friday night's "The Late Show" with David Letterman, despite a hacking cough, a bronchial infection and sinus infection.

Streep was promoting her role as a nun in the film adaptation of "Doubt."

As she came out coughing, unable to complete many of her sentences without sneaking into a hack, Letterman exclaimed, "You really shouldn't be out walking around."

Streep's quick response, "Well I was afraid to cancel."

The interview continued with coughs and tissue and ended with a few good squirts of hand sanitizer.
