Blagojevich Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald 'A Heroic Figure'

In a city where politics and corruption are often synonymous, Chicago's top U.S. prosecutor, Patrick Fitzgerald, has burnished his image as a guardian of public integrity with the arrest last week of Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich.

"He's seen almost as a heroic figure," said Dick Simpson, a former alderman and a political science professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago. "He's seen as the one effective force who is fighting against political corruption."

Although, I believe what I've read about Blagojevic is awful, I don't think Fitzgerald has a case against him. Fitzgerald moved to quickly on the senate seat appointment. All Blagojevich did was talk, I don't think any money changed hands. So where's the crime?

Totally disguested by this man. Do we really think this is the first time a seat in congress has been sold or negotiated??? Hell no! I'm still in a shock of disguests at the whole Florida votes during the Jeb Bush/ Katherine Harris affair. George Bush ends up president and Harris ends up as a US House of Rep. Who stole and negotiated those seats? Republicans are just dirty, and when they do their dirt, dems turn their heads and we allow it. Shame on us.
