I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Late Night

The late-night shows not in repeats had a field day Monday night with the Bush shoe-throwing incident. Below is a video of some of the best from Conan, Leno, Letterman and Ferguson.

A few of jokes:

Letterman: I don't think President Bush has dodged anything like that since, well, the Vietnam War.

Leno: Looks like we finally found something President Bush is good at - dodgeball!

Ferguson:
The shoe-throwing incident has made Sarah Palin want to be president even more. Free shoes! You betcha!

Conan: He's being hailed as a hero in Iraq... when he dies he'll be greeted in heaven by 172 podiatrists.

Those and much more in the video below.

Instead of throwing your shoes or creating mayhem at the White House by mailing your shoes, take a picture, in solidarity with Al Zaidi, take a picture in the name of peace and an end to war,

The late night talk show hosts, i.e. Letterman and Leno et al., and addictedgames.com have disgraced the office and demeaned the President by telling their "jokes," and creating the Sock and Awe game. It minimizes a physical assault on the President and gives credence to this violent act with the creation of the game. If liberals are going to be fair and balanced, then tell jokes and create games of Reverend Jesse Jackson armed with knife trying to castrate the newly elected President. I think it would be just as funny and disrespectful to the Office of the Presidency as the monologues and the game are to President Bush.

Wow...good thing he did not throw cowboy boots. That would have been the ultimate insult .

Is it true that there is a mail in your shoe to 1600 Pennsylvania drive by way of a silent protest?

Well I consider the shoe throw hilarious, and well deserved too.
Bush had no business being there.
He had no business invading Iraq.
He had no justification for deposing Saddam.
He found no WMD.
He got in way over his head.
And where are all his Neo Con friends who joined forces and supported this misguided adventure? Like rats, they have jumped a sinking ship.

And I also hold Congress responsible for following this dimwit's ideas and not impeaching him when they had a chance.

No.

67 is required to have him REMOVED via impeachment - it doesn't take ANY to bring it to the floor, on the will of the speaker.

And, I bet that there would have been MORE than 67 once all the 34 (or was it 37?) charges got a proper hearing.

I generally have a good sense of humor, but I don't think this shoe throwing incident was very funny.

I feel like the shoes thrown at George W. Bush were shoes thrown at me. Perhaps if it was Tom Brokaw, a mid-western American journalist who threw the shoes, I would be less bothered by it, but a man stood up at a press conference on the other side of the world and threw a shoe at my President. Because, let’s face it, even with all of his faults and lack of intellectual curiosity, he is still the American President.

If this president hadn't so soiled the office, I would agree.

The fact that the reporter has been covering the deaths of Iraqis and has been held detained by our troops and held captive by militas and has had family members die, might have pushed him over the edge. the Bush administration has "been throwing shoes" at the american people with every lame brained policy and lie it has come up with in the past 8 yrs.

the only thing seperating Bush from Obama being President is pomp....let's get this new administration on the role and send Bush packing so he can get all the shoes thrown at him and we would care less.!!!

so you reckon it would have been more appropriate to throw an apple pie? or twinkies?

You know, you are absolutely right. Instead, they should lock him in Guantanamo for a few years.

WRONG TIME TO LAUGH

What exactly is funny about a security breach so serious as to permit someone to successfully hurl anything at an American president? This could just as well have been a grenade. Do we need a reminder as to why we have to take our shoes off before advancing through airport security?

One does not have to like Bush or his politic to make the distinction between ha ha and jeopardy. Where was the Secret Service? If Bush, or any other prominent official dies on Iraqi soil, it will horrifically complicate our own affairs and our expeditious withdrawal from that lovely oasis.

Bush and his crew need to stay home until January 20th.

Americans need to give consideration to the notion that jeopardy for an American president, any American president, is a really bad thing, and is just about as unfunny as anything gets.

Someone did throw a grenade at him in Georgia, it landed within 100 feet of him, but didn't go off.

You people continue to wax on about the office of the President, yet you fail to address the cause of the revilement. Let me keep it simple: if the shoe were on the other foot, and it had been YOUR family members killed or maimed by the leader of an occupying military, you be speaking out of the other side of your mouth.

Keep your jingoism to yourself.

Have you seen the video? It's funny. I am surprised at the slow reaction of the SS detail. What did they think? That the shoes were being tossed as gifts?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the Secret Service was checking for any and all weapons capable of doing actual harm and shoes weren't confiscated at the door. You can't take over a commercial flight by threatening anyone with a tossed shoe, even stillettos.

It's not against Islam to throw a shoe. In the East it is the gravest insult. IT is not insulting to Muslims, it is insulting to Bush.

If Allah will it that the gentleman who pitched his shoes at W is to be met by 70 or so female chiropitists like the lady who has trated me for 10 years, Allah & paradise are too wonderful to be described by mere humans. Allah, Akbar.
