Tim McGraw: I'm Not Running For Tennessee Governor

He'd be many a Democrat's dream candidate, but Tim McGraw says talk of his running for governor of Tennessee in 2010 is, for now, pure fantasy.

"There's no truth to this," McGraw's rep tells PEOPLE of the rumors - sparked by an item in The New Republic - that McGraw was considering a run for the gubernatorial seat. "It's something he is interested in, but not for 2010. Later in life."

In an interview with PEOPLE earlier this year, McGraw, a Democrat who supported Barack Obama in the presidential race, admitted that politics was in his blood and could be in his future.

Oh how your Libs can't take the truth. Face it: We brought down Madonna and we will bring down the newly minted Dem Tim and his wife Faith( though I will never believe Faith is a Dem. No way). Madonna burned me with recording the anti abortion song Papa Don't Preach then turned her back on us by supporting abortion candidates Obama and Hillary. Never again. Oh I am not slamming Tim, Faith or Madonna. I actually think they are all quite talented. But they must be dealt with accordingly. Look at Madonna, she might can sell out stadiums but who cares. Faith and Tim are both Democrats. Abortion can't be the only test for your vote. You've got to realize that in all the years of Republican majority, they've never overturned Roe V. Wade. Why do you think that is? Because it's just used as a rallying cry for people like you, who refuse to see the big picture or call out your politicians for not doing anything to ban abortion.

Oh really? We conservatives hurt Madonna's sales when we circulated a petition to stop buying her CD's because she started supporting abortion candidates. I have often wished the south had won the Civil War then the rest of us would be rid of Tennessee. The four years I lived there were a rude awakening for me. I couldn't believe such ignorance, such bigotry, such religeous idiocy could be concentrated in one place. The day I left was one of the happiest days of my life.
