Curtis Gans of the Center for the Study of the American Electorate has issued his final report on turnout in the 2008 election. Among his findings:

In all, 131,257,542 Americans voted for president in 2008, nine million more than cast their ballots in 2004* (against only a 6.5 million increase in eligible population).

The Southern turnout is indicitive of AA who for all intents and purposes, didn't vote, for lack of choice. After relocating to VA, I was shocked by the number of African Americans who did not participate in voting. After my first Congressional election I understood why, there were no Democrats on the ballot at all! Your voted for Republicans or you did'nt vote. So the fact that there was a AA Candidate, and there was a choice made the turnout possible. If you have never heard of an 'uncontested' election, trust me there are such things in Southern States, and I anot isolating this to deep southern states, I am talking a State, adjoining Washington DC and Maryland, namely Virginia.

From the article:
"Overall turnout increased in 37 states and the District of Columbia. The greatest turnout increases occurred in the District of Columbia (13 percentage points), followed by North Carolina (10.3), Georgia (7.6), South Carolina (7.4), Virginia (7.1), Colorado (6.3), Mississippi (5.9), Alabama (5.5) and Indiana (5.2)."

Of these states, North Carolina, Virginia, and Indiana was picked off by Dean and the Obama Campaign -- all states that have a significant AA population.

See this is what happens when you go to southern states with racial overtones and excluding minorities from your definition of "Real Americans" Palin !! So all you R *E *P *U *G * T * H * U * G * S take note and stuff your southern strategy up your @--.

Golly Gee ,could this mean that lot's of people are fed up with the Republicans BS?
I talk to repubs around my area and they still use Liberal as a dirty word and think the GOP is fiscally conservative. Their knees jerk at every question I ask and lots of them are just self righteous narrowminded simpletons. But at the face of it they are Nice people.
