Kennedy Barraged With Questions After Syracuse Meeting

Caroline Kennedy got an immediate taste of what it's like to be a candidate for office facing off against reporters with questions today.

From Syracuse, The Post-Standard reports on the exchange she had with reporters there after meeting with some local Democrats. Kennedy, 51 and the daughter of president John Kennedy, delivered a statement saying she is honored to be among those whom Gov. David Paterson is considering as a replacement for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (who is moving on to be secretary of State).

Then, as she tried to leave, reporters started asking why Kennedy -- who has never held or sought office before -- believes she is qualified to be in the Senate.
