I Like ItI Don’t Like It

One of David Copperfield's magician's assistants was rushed to the hospital with a severe injury during the finale performance of his MGM Grand Las Vegas show Wednesday, an rep for Copperfield tells Usmagazine.com.

"During an illusion where David attempts to walk through the rotating blades of a 12-foot high industrial fan, the fan and its platform were being rotated by one of David's illustion technicians," the rep says. "Just prior to David himself walking through the fan, Brandon was accidentally pulled into the vortex of the moving fan blades, causing injury to his arm and face."

Copperfield never goes anywhere without a wind machine, so his hair is always flying back from his face in a dramatic, action-shot.

Ironic that there is a mini-tragedy involving a huge fan....seing how half of his career involves high-powered fans.

I think Copperfield blows....or at least his props do.

I love David Copperfield. I saw him live at the Coply Symphony Hall in San Diego. The magic he performed was truly beyond belief. His last trick was he flew off the stage... into the audience... picked up a guest seated six seats away from me and flew back to the stage with the woman in his arms.

I never saw the wires that had to be carrying him.

Just like any dangerous job, his assistant knew the risks. I hope is assistant will be okay and make a full recovery. Good luck to them both.

Why was David Copperfield attempting to walk through a 12 foot industrial fan?

He ought to be put in a mental institution for his own safety.

Why? Well, y'see, it's because he's an illusionist. A magician who entertains an audience by fooling people into thinking he's doing things that he really isn't. It's a show business tradition. Perhaps you've heard of Houdini? I'm sure the library has a book or two, if you're interested. Gee.

And what kind of compensation could merit such danger...I will never go to one of his shows.

"Copperfield was there when he woke up and presented him with a children's magic set to practice on during his recovery, his rep says."

That makes it all worthwhile now eh? Big spender .... and shows he really cares!

Last I heard, Copperfield was involved in one weird rape accusation.

Hope the assistant comes out okay. Copperfield might not have been so concerned about others safety but more later I suppose. At least we now know the fan was not fake. He's looking pretty creepy as well.
