I'm sorry, but that's just weird. Sounds like a drug-induced idea he had, that he actually acted upon.

Buying guns for cops - who are notoriously gun happy whack jobs with inferiority complexes (ever read psychological profiles on what drives people into dangerous lines of work where you get to carry a gun and occasionally shoot people?) - is a good deed???

Yeah.. Tell that to the countless number of innocent civilians that get slaughtered annually by the trigger happy gang in blue without any hope of seeing justice.

Instead of buying more guns for cops, Spade could have been buying more bullet proof vests for our troops in Iraq. Do something ACTUALLY patriotic, not some insane pandering conservative gesture knee jerk reaction to waking up in a center-left country

But with Dennis Miler as a long time close friend, what else do you expect?

Another example of the positvie influence Mr. Pitt has on others. Look at the moustache, Dave Spade totally wants to be like Brad.

Spade has been predictably awful for a long time now, so it's no surprise he would try to buy some goodwill. Lord knows his movies have created lots of enemies.

So, a guy does something good and you have to be a je rk about it! Merry Christmas to you too!

Calm down people. All I said was he wasn't funny. His movies have replaced the gas chamber in Texas for convicted felons sentenced to death, so apparently some agree with me.

And while he is doing some good while laughing his way to the bank with the money from all his movies, you are are making snarky comments on a web page - probably while at work.

People shouldn't be too quick to call for shooting the "bad guys."

Some people think they are the bad guys.

Um, many "lefties" want the police to have guns, too.

Yeah. Nothing wrong with police officers who are held accountable for the location of their firearms having them. The problem with firearm sales to the general public is that many people who get them legally shouldn't and every illegally owned firearm was originally legally owned.

Kudos to David Spade for this gesture.

I know that he is a native of this area (I live in Phoneix) and he has surely seen and heard about the changes this city has gone through since his rise to fame. I moved here in 2001 and this is not the same city I moved to seven years ago.

Crime is rampant here. Gang mentality is pervasive. Illegal immigration is overwhelming our metro area, and unfortunately there are bad seeds - too bad they aren't all good, law abiding people like many I've met.

Our police force is overwhelmed and underpaid. They need all the help they can get, and whether it buys rifles or pays some salary to new recruits - Thank you, Mr. Spade.

yep. I lived there for 11 years and left in 1997. My brother-in-law lived in sw phx and said the police helicopters wouldn't even fly over there because of all the pot shots being taken at them all the time at night. We moved out of state after drug dealers moved into the condo next door in tempe. Fine the employers $10k each violation for hiring illegals and all costs of deportation and retention no exceptions ... problem solved. If the state wants revenues up and unemployment down, enforcing the immigration laws with big fines would do wonders. I worked with the mesa and scottsdale police on 2nd shifts, yuk the crap they had to put up with jaded em after no time flat. Ironically, I worked with 2 ex law enforcement people from the phx police out of the state in a different profession....they lost interest in law enforcement...phx did it to em. Its a shame.
Wearing the bullet proof vests in the heat there sucks. Some say I'm liberal, nope just a dem who knows what's screwed up in this country and phx is a prime example.

Made me think of a plot for that Comedy Central show, "Reno 911", with this vacuous chap as the police captain of indeterminate sexual orientation.

Indeterminate? Umm, I think dude is pretty gay on the show. He's tried to bed Jones multiple times now.

Just what the fascistic Phoenix cops need, more rifles! What the Phoenix P.D. needs isn't more rifles, but senstitivity training. Those guys and gals are the rejects of the rest of the country's police departments.
