I Like ItI Don’t Like It

A veteran of the nation's most famous recount has been quietly advising Sen. Norm Coleman (R-Minn.), who is fighting a fierce battle to hang on to his seat.

Florida recount guru Benjamin Ginsberg, who played a prominent role on then Texas Gov. George W. Bush's legal team during the historic 2000 presidential campaign, has been helping Coleman's recount operation, the Republican senator's campaign confirmed Monday.

Nice to see Ginsberg is still so committed to disenfranchising voters.

You make it sound as if he was helpful to Bush in 2000. I didn't know he was on the Supreme Court.

The Republicans will go to court endlessly to try to win in court instead of in the vote count.

His advice will be pointless. In 2000, Bush only "won" by not letting the recount happen.
It is far too late for Normy to do that now.

True, but it wasn't Bush who stopped the recount. It was the Supreme Court who stated that the recount process unconstitutional.

We now live in a kleptocracy. It is only natural that the thieves get caught from time to time.

Examples:

Former Indonesian President Suharto ($15 billion " $35 billion)
Former Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos ($5 billion " $10 billion)
Former Zairian President Mobutu Sese Seko ($5 billion)
Former Nigerian President Sani Abacha ($2 billion " $5 billion)
Former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milošević ($1 billion)
Former Haitian President Jean-Claude Duvalier ($300 million " $800 million)
Former Peruvian President Alberto Fujimori ($600 million)
Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Pavlo Lazarenko ($114 million " $200 million)
Former Nicaraguan President Arnoldo Alemán ($100 million)
Former Philippine President Joseph Estrada ($78 million " $80 million)

Former US President George Walker Bush should top this list w/trillions....

Why do the repubs. rally behind their members who are under indictment? They gave Vitter a standing ovation when he returned to work. If Coleman makes it, they will probably have a huge celebration. Truly HONEST people don't stand a chance in the repub. party, the slimier they are the more welcome they are.

They rally around their members under indictment, cuz that's pretty mcuh all they HAVE is indicted members! The only ones who are NOT under indictment, so it seems, are the likes of moderates like Senators Snowe and Collins of Maine and Rep. Castle of Delaware. And the GOP just HATES moderates.

I see that Blagojevich is still in office. So is Congressman "Show me the cold cash" William Jefferson. Sounds like the Democrats don't police their own either.

You're OT. The comment is about Repubs rallying around their indicted and gives examples. If memory serves, Jefferson was not re-elected. Sounds to me like good "policing" by the Dem voters. You are debunked.

We here in Illinois are trying to get rid of Blago but unless you are advocating we trash our state constitution the only way is impeachment, which takes time or hoping he quits which is unlikely. As far as Jefferson goes, he will not be returning as he was defeated...by a Republican. As much as I dislike him and Colemen, indicted is not convicted in this country. That is our legal system. Are you advocating we trash that also? Sorry, but lately the Republicans have had a leg up on the disgusting and possibly criminal behavior front.

You mean" Cold Cash Coleman"?

William Jefferson lost in the last election and is under indictment. What more do you want? When Blago can be legally removed he will be.

They make a huge showing of their support when the indicated criminal would likely be replaced by a Democratic governor or legislature. However, when a Republican replaces the indicted, they throw them under the bus almost immediately.

Their only loyalty is to personal power.

Gisnberg needs to go away. Like, permanently. I'd do it, cept it's COLD there in MN.

Maybe wait until he's back in FL where the weather is much more conducive to ass kicking.

Yeah, the problem with this, though is that Minnesota is conducting a well-run recount. This guy Coleman is recruiting specializes in chaotic elections. Minnesota seems to have a pretty firm grasp on how to judge voter intent--and do math. Minnesota has some of the highest testing scores in the nation, as well as the highest graduation rate.
