LG is unveiling a display that is illuminated by sunlight while outdoors, which means it helps decrease power consumption of notebooks by 75% while outside.

The company's new 14.1" LCD display is the first display of its kind to utilize this technology.

If computer companies want to be green, they should first start with nt building in obsolesce in the mother board-they are designed to last ony 4-5 years so regardless of how much power you save, you will have to buy a new computer every 4 years-same with home appliances.

I wouldn't mind having something like that, except for one minor problem. I can't see the screen in the sunlight. All I see on the screen is some ugly dude staring back at me.

It's the first display of its kind except for the OLPC display ... and millions of other reflective LCD displays that came before it and could do the same.
