I Like ItI Don’t Like It

I'm afraid the Toussie pardon reversal doesn't make any damn sense at all. Not as a straight story. The Bush White House openly admitting to an error, and making itself look super-silly by publicly reversing a controversial decision within 24 hours? Does that even remotely sound like the Bush White House we have come to know over the last 8 years?

So even though it was Christmas Eve, we had no choice but to mobilize the rightly famous 1115 fly-on-the-wall army of undercover agents. And, as always, they came through. So even though it's Christmas Day, we put our nose to the grindstone, and bring you the sordid truth of the Toussie episode, exposing the cynical machinations underlying the for-public-consumption story-line.

More faulty intelligence? Or just no intelligence to begin with?

Rove is so afraid of Holder that he stepped to this level!

Rove should testify before CONGRESS ASAP!

Rove remember 2000 and 2004?

CBS News Dec 24, 2008 on Ohio 2004: "[For example, in Franklin County Mr. Bush received 4,258 votes in a precinct where only 638 voters cast ballots.]"

Shouldn't the headline say skidmarks instead of fingerprints?

So they unpardon this guy because if tehy pardon him they have no grounds to make a stand on not accepting Eric Holder because he investigated the Marc Rich pardon. Now tha's a long way to go to get something to bitch about.

By the looks of him, Rove's fingerprints are on more than a few twinkie wrappers.

Has Bush ever made a decision on his own? Either Karl Rove or Dick Cheney seem to wield the power at the White House. Both Rove and Cheney should be in jail. Pathetic situation.

Any thoughts on whether this actually may put the kibosh on any mass-pardons of Bush Administration officials? It's amazing how a little firestorm caused Bush to jump back. If he thinks that this is gonna taint his legacy what would pardons of Cheney, Rumsfeld, Gonzalez, Rove and others do! A Toussie pardon would be lost in the maelstrom of outcry.

Isn't the problem that Bush is pretty much compelled to identify those that circumvented the DOJ Pardon Attorney to bring this case before him. If it was Rove then he's not any better off. Holders' replacement will likely want to investigate if there was a bribe involved.

It also makes it very difficult for those Republicans who are intent on attacking Holder vis-a-vis Rich. The Rich pardon was subject of several Senate and House hearings...so they will be put into the situation of having to support similar investigations into the Toussie pardon if they challenge the Holder nomination.

But it is important, since the President isn't talking, to find out who pushed this pardon...who took it off the DOJ "rejection" bin...and gave it to the President?

Karl Rove's sticky little fingerprints are all over the majority of Bush decisions, this is no different.
