Bristol Palin Baby Son Tripp Born

MSNBC is reporting that the Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston may receive up to $300,000 for the first pictures of their son Tripp.

The price didn't soar immediately, according to the sources, because Sarah Palin stories just didn't sell all that well for the weeklies on newsstands.

People magazine reports that Bristol Palin, daughter of the Alaska governor, has given birth to a baby son:

Bristol Palin, the 18-year-old daughter of former Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, gave birth on Sunday to a healthy 7 lb., 4 oz., baby boy in Palmer, Alaska.

"We think it's wonderful," said Colleen Jones, the sister of Bristol's grandmother Sally Heath, who confirmed the news. "The baby is fine and Bristol is doing well. Everyone is excited."

The baby's name is Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston, according to Jones.

The baby's father, Levi Johnston, is training to be an electrician. Bristol is taking correspondence courses to obtain her high school diploma. The couple has been together for three years.

A People magazine executive denied media speculation Tuesday that Bristol Palin made at least $300,000 for giving the publication first shot at photos of her newborn son.

The Republican strategy has allways been to dumb down the population and accellerate their race to the bottom. For them high school graduation is good enough for their kids and they care about anyone else's kids. Oh, by the way, Their Baby was named after Levi's Mom's daily routine.

Why is this, in any remote way, ... news?

If anything, we are promoting teenage sexual activity, pregnancy, and dropping out of high school. It is a crying shame that they will be made rich, for actions that have nothing to do with morality, family values, and nothing profound. Good job media.

There are other people out there who have done remarkable things. They have sacrificed their lives for profound things, all of their lives. There are some people who will go through life doing many things that are helpful, honorable, and promoting of good spirit, ... who will go unnoticed and pass away with empty pockets.

The Palin's are riding this wave. I can't blame them.

Also, The culture I notice with this election was when Obama had his kids at events, people said he has a nice family. When Palin had her kids at events, she was criticized for exploiting them and/or keeping them up late at night.

Also in regard to politician's family members, Obama has an aunt who continues to live here illegally. Somehow that story came and went.

Obama had his kids at 3 events and he was not going around the country spreading hate! Palin had her kids at every event spreading her lies and hate! Those children should be at home in Alaska going to school! Maybe people would have taken Palin more seriously if she thought that education was important!

Now about Obama and his Aunt! It is clear that Obama was not really close with his fathers side of the family! His father abandoned him at the age of 2! I have many Aunts and Uncles that I have met one time and personally have no connection with them! Obama also said if his Aunt was here illegally then she should be forced to take the measures to be here legally or be deported!

Regarding comparing Bristol and Jamie Lynn Spears: this is really about hyprocrisy, When Jamie Lynn got pregnant the right wing media/focus on the family lamb basted her parents calling them bad parents, pin heads etc! When Bristol got pregnant the ring wing gave her parents a free ride saying kids will be kids! Sarah and Todd failed their daughter, apparently no real communication going on, Sarah and Todd too busy with themselves to talk to their daughter! How about this conversation: Bristol you have been dating Levi a long time, are you sexually active? How about discussing the importance of birth control and reproductive health? My major problem with Palin is she only wants to teach our children abstinence based education! America teen pregnancy is a serious problem and as far as I am concerned it is really parents not really being open with their children! My oldest daughter came to me and told me, it was not like I was condoneing sex with her boyfriend at 17 but it was better than her being a mother at 17! Wake up American talk to you children, spend time with them! Stop giving them everything, they don't need the latest and greatest cell phone, they need love and attention! Don't be parents if you don't want to parent! We are not our childrens friends!

Nope. If Obama had taken Sasha out of school and had her travel with him, like Palin did with Piper, the media would have been allllll over it. Obama's daughters stayed at home during the week and attended school, while either Michelle or Michelle's mother cared for them. The girls even went to school the day after the election. If Palin wanted Piper with her, maybe, she should have hired a tutor to travel with them, who could have home schooled Piper, while on the campaign trail?

Obama's children were at a couple of campaign events, including the convention. Most of that time, they were HOME at school. Obama clearly stated that his daughters needed to be at school, that that was more important than carting them around the country to strange places.
Palin, however, constantly brought her kids along, especially the poor baby that had just been born, Trig; his poor head flopping around as she carted him around without proper support for his head. LATE at NIGHT. Something about the other kids having tutors along for all the school they were missing. Well, except for the one who dropped out.
"Culture" or not, the fact is that there was a big quantitative difference with the kids being paraded around.

Let's say the Obama's had a daughter of similar age in a similar situation. You don't think she would be offered that kind of money if not more? I think Bristol & Levi were wrong to get themselves into this situation but at least he is working to get himself into a good trade and she was smart enough to take advantage of their celebrity status. If Obama had a daughter the same age in the same situation, we'd have been hearing about declining moral values, rising teen pregnancy rates in black populations, and welfare mothers--and Barack Obama wouldn't be the President-elect.

During the campaign, I commented somewhere that Sarah Palin was pregnant when she got married (I'm going by dates, I don't have legal information), and a conservative woman bit my head off. She started her reply by telling me how unimportant that was (I agree), and ended it with, "besides, wasn't Michelle pregnant when *they* got married?" The assumption really galled me. No, Michelle was busy with her legal career, trying to pay off those student loans she needed for Princeton and Harvard.

Pregnant white women and pregnant black women--especially young women, and *definitely* unmarried young women--are viewed at opposite extremes: the first a glowing Madonna, the second a welfare queen-in-training. It's depressing, but too often true.

Why couldn't the kids marry when they first discovered she was in "trouble"? Neither one was very busy and both were not married to other people.
