They like it because they know it helps them stay skinny. They don't have to spend as much time in the gym.

Why is it okay to drink in front of your children? I don't think smoking has ruined families for decades. I'm so sick of the anti-smokers pinning the worlds ills on smokers. Wake-up anti-smokers you are still probably going to die from cancer , if you don't smoke. It's in the water, food and air. Sorry to burst your bubbles!

If there is any woman I would want to watch smoking a cigarette it would be Selma Hayek.

In your face to the smug and sanctimoneous neo-puritan self-appointed missionaries and legislators of politicaly correct behavior, especially amongst the militant reformed and saved ex-smokers.

I smoked for a long time and could never quit until I got hypnotized. I haven't smoked since (15 years).

Great role model for your kid. Congratulations for teaching her a destructive habit.

Smoking is impossible to quit because it is so enjoyable. On the other hand you want to quit because it ruins your hair, skin and smell.

It is a nasty habit I want to give up for my vanity, but a wonderfully relaxing habit I can't live without.

I don't understand the antis obsession with wanting to criminalise everybody who does it though, what is it got to do with them?

I would never quit because some nag preaches in my direction. The possibility of ending up with nothing better to do than tell everybody else how to live their lives is good enough justification for almost any vice. The more you have the less interested you are in other peoples business.

All those words, and yet "cancer" isn't among them.

It is certainly your choice to smoke. My attitude tends to be negative because I saw my mom die of emphysema after almost a lifetime of smoking. She suffered horribly.

I think another reasons people want to "criminalise" smoking is because quite frankly, it stinks. I don't want to choke on secondhand smoke, and I don't want smoke on my hair and clothing after after leaving a bar. I'm so glad most businesses required smokers to smoke outside, now.

It's a sin to smoke but its okay for people like Bush to commit war crimes a la Crusaders in the name of the Lord? It's not illegal for crying out loud. I smoke and I could care less what anyone thinks. Fellow smokers, take heart-five years from now America will be obsessed with something else and jump all over those people next.

She's a smoker, not a child molester.

I've been butt free for close to 10 years. At 2 1/2 packs a day I figure I've saved over $20,000 plus I've stayed out of bars to avoid the temptation of lighting up again. Bush is going to blame me for the recession.

Without cigarettes I'd be a whale. It's all about priorities.

Have you ever seen someone who has smoked 20 years or so? They generally have horrible skin and look pretty rough.

as a former smoker I know it is the toughest habit to quit. We should all try to help others quit instead of making them fell bad or guilty.
