Lark Previn, the Vietnamese-born adopted daughter of Farrow and musician Andre Previn, died on Christmas Day, the medical examiner said Monday.

Lark Previn, 35, a mother of two girls, had been ailing for a decade. A cause of death was not released.

Her two daughters, Sara, 13, and Christine, 12, sat in the front row at her wake last night at a Brooklyn funeral home.

NEW YORK - Lark Previn, a daughter of actress Mia Farrow whose sister Soon-Yi Previn was at the center of Farrow's messy breakup with Woody Allen, has died. She was 35.

Lark Previn died Christmas Day at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, the medical examiner's office said. No cause of death was given. A cremation was held Tuesday at Brooklyn's Green-Wood Cemetery.

Lark Previn was born in Vietnam in 1973. She was one of three children adopted by Farrow and her then-husband, conductor Andre Previn. The couple also had three biological children.

Representatives for Farrow and Previn didn't immediately return calls seeking comment.

Farrow adopted two children and had a biological son during her relationship with Allen. She starred in several of Allen's movies during their relationship, which ended in 1992 when she discovered that Allen was having an affair with her adopted daughter Soon-Yi, then 22.

The bitter custody battle that followed featured accusations by Farrow that Allen had sexually abused adopted daughter Dylan, 7. Allen was exonerated of the abuse charges but Farrow won sole custody of the children.

Soon-Yi Previn married Allen, who is 35 years her senior, in 1997. They have two adopted daughters.

The Farrow-Allen custody fight featured court testimony that Farrow favored her biological children over her adopted children, including Lark. A movie producer testified on Allen's behalf that Lark was viewed as a "scullery maid" who "did most of the chores." Farrow's supporters said she was a loving mother to all her children.

I wish I knew how to get a message of condolence to Mia. She's lost 3 daughters, now. Tam died at the age of 19 in 2000, Lark died on Christmas Day (how terrible is that?!) in 2008, and she lost Soon-Yi to that sleaze-ball.

I have lost 3 children - my son Graham died the day he was born from a heart ailment. His twin sister, Susanne, died in 1985 at the age of 15, and my son Vern died in 2002 at the age of 34. I gave birth to Graham and Susanne. Vern was adopted. I can tell you from personal experience that there is no difference in the grief over an adopted child from a biological child. Your child is your child, whether it's a baby, a teenager, or an adult. You miss them always.

If only there was some way to let Mia Farrow know that there is someone who can relate to her pain, and wishes to offer condolences.

I don't know why folks are so shy about discussing Woody Allen's conduct and its probable adverse affect on his stepdaughter. If my stepfather (yes, common-law stepfather counts) had had an affair with my 14 year old sister and subsequently married her, my life might not have gone as well as it has.

Parents misconduct affects children profoundly, and I think it is appropriate to speculate that Allen's egregious misconduct might have contributed to some possible personal demons and bad decisions of this young lady.

I have the utmost respect and sympathy for Mia Farrow, Lark, and their families.

Let me tell you my favorite graffiti, found on a bathroom wall, when I was playing music in a little club, called "The Anxious Asp" in North Beach (San Francisco) about 1965. Over the decades, I've found it repeatedly useful in raising two children and two step-children:

Someone wrote on the bathroom wall:
"MY MOTHER MADE ME A HOMOSEXUAL­."
Underneath someone responded:
"IF I GIVE HER THE YARN, WILL SHE MAKE ME ONE TOO."

Everyone has something to blame on their parents. I've heard parents blamed for being "too perfect" and "too much in love with each other." If I sought excuses to blame my childhood for my proclivities, I might have ended up on death-row. If my children grew up blaming others for their struggles, I'd have failed as a parent. People, who don't have "personal demons," make bad decisions; some of us are lucky enough to live & learn from them. Sadly, some folks aren't that lucky.

Taking thin shreds of this sad story and using that as an excuse to act out some personal angst against Woody Allen, is hardly appropriate.

Yeah I read it, but Star magazine is not exactly the NY times VSHDST. Also, getting aids from a tattoo seems unlikely, ever see any news where somebody states they were infected like this? Especially nowadays when everyone has a tattoo.

I am so sorry for Mia and Lark's young daughters. Young girls need their mothers so much and they will feel this loss forever. They should take refuge in knowing that love is alive and they will meet again with their loved ones. Sadly, that's all we have to go forward with. But love is that strong, isn't it?

If Mia is enough of a Buddhist (and I am sure she is), she understands that Lark's spiritual body (Skt., manomayakaya) is still around and owing to the lightness or depth of her attachments will connect with another representative body -- albeit divine (deva) or again human. Death is only the point of a transition -- and a change-into-other. On the same track, it is the dissolution of the corporeal but not that which animates it (= the manomayakaya).
