Weather Guy Slips: Mike Seidel Falls On MSNBC (VIDEO)

The Weather Channel's Mike Seidel slipped and fell while reporting live for MSNBC this weekend. Siedel, a storm veteran who has covered more than 40 tropical storms and hurricanes since 1996, lost his balance mid-sentence and went down on the ice.

"You alright pal? No, you're not!" MSNBC anchor Alex Witt observed, before cutting away from the live footage.

Yeah, well, falling can be life threatening. I took a simple fall - didn't think much about it, save for the pride hit I took because it was in front of a bunch of guys. Not one came over to help me, and all I did was fall on my ass. It had been raining outside and the floor was slick. Over the course of several days, I ultimately lost the use of both my legs from the fall. It took 4 years for a battery of docs to actually figure out what was wrong. It took another couple of years in therapy to get back after they did, but I'm whole now. As a result, I ALWAYS worry about people falling on the ice and stuff. It can be a whole lot worse that you could ever imagine!!! Best wishes for everyone living on the slippery stuff!!!!

Being a veteran of 58 Minnesota winters, I have taken a few spills myself. Just a few days ago, I went down hard on three occasions during one trip to the local corner grocer...and I was being careful. Fortunately, the only thing hurt was my pride. I hope Mr. Seidel is as lucky. Is this news worthy of the Huffington Post? Maybe not, but it struck home with me.

Hey, I live in MN, and yesterday we had another snow storm. I went out to lunch with a bunch of people from work, and when we left, I fell on my ass and slipped under the truck we drove. I was mortified, plus it really hurt. To make matters worse, it was so slippery I couldn't get back up. Everyone was asking me if I was ok, though they were laughing so hard I could barely understand them. All day at work i had to to put up with teasing, and I was soaking wet. One genius e-mailed me the commercial with the old lady who had fallen and couldn't get up. Yeah, winter is tons of fun. Today, I'm so stiff I can't move..........................

If the person falling is healthy and young it's funny, go ahead and laugh. I fall every year cause I wear inappropriate footwear in the snow. Last year I slipped right in front of dudes playing basketball, I was expecting it, they laughed and I laughed. Of course they asked if I was alright, and it was cool.

Snow and ice is put there to humble us. Might as well enjoy it.
