I Like ItI Don’t Like It

We'd like to propose a toast.

To Gov. Rod Blagojevich. At a time when the country is in tatters and Americans are watching every new bank or industry failure to find out which will be the straw to break the camel's back, you popped up out of nowhere to give us a scandal we can do nothing but laugh at. You're no Bernie Madoff, stealing billions and destroying charities. You're no Dick Fuld, bringing down a banking institution and launching a global economic crisis. You're not even a sucky General Motors CEO. You're Rod Blagojevich, one guy so delusional and self-obsessed that you want to do nothing but stand up and demand that someone give you your goddamn money. But most importantly, you're one guy who's too stupid to not talk on the phone. And when you finally get sent up the river, you'll have no effect on the economy or job creation or the credit crisis. You'll just be one guy headed to jail.

The Blagojevich media frenzy reminds me of the insanity created over the impeachment of President Clinton.

Clinton was not removed from office and his wife almost became President of the United States.

The human energy and financial waste resulted in nothing!

The people of this country have been/are being ripped off for trillions of dollars while the media wastes time on a Governor who is only trying to support his family.

I don't think many Chicago Dems will be laughing at this. The racial identity politics they have played like a fiddle are going to bite them in the ass. Blago just did what most of them do anyway, now he is using the race card to stick it to the people that tried to make a name for themselves off of him.

It also seems like Fitzgerald doesn't have the goods, he's stretching out the deadline hoping that interest will die off. Why did he pull the investigation so fast? Probably to protect Obama and the case will crumble because of it.

Fact is he will probably not be impeached and will serve out his full term. And as far as this being such a laughable crime, Humm, don't think so. Stupid yes. Spritzers situation I felt was much more laughable.
And both situations are probably much more common than we think.

Wouldn't it really be something else if soliciting the commission of a crime (talking about doing it) does not land him in jail or impeached? That is not true, of course, if you are trying to hire a hit man.

I know they are not going to let this spoil crook get by with the scandal he tried to commit.
