Slumdog must be seen in a theater for both the cinematography and the audience reactions. Great story line about fate and true love. And don't miss the great Bollywood finish. IMO, best movie of 2008.
SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE!
I've seen few movies this year but this one I caught on New Year's Day.
A truly amazing film.
What about Maula Jat ??? Its not in the list :(
No mention of "Jodha Akbar"?
No mention of "Tare Zameen Par"?
Pfffft!
People need to check these films out using IMDB or Rotten Tomatoes. You guys don't know what y'all are missing.
Don't go see Benjamin Buttons. It's the worst movie ever!
Who cares! These people are not going to be homeless! I am! I lost my business!!!!

Slumdog Millionaire and Wall-E were hands down the two best movies of the year. Wall-E especially was an absolute masterpiece.
Besides teens, who patronizes theaters anymore?
You now have pirated new release movies on the net not to mention Netflix downloads on blu-ray discs. Just sayin'
I saw Doubt and Slumdog Millionaire this weekend. I loved Doubt, and Streep was amazing in it, but I couldn't sit through Slumdog, which was really disappointing. Too much violence for me. I'm going to have to wait till it comes out on DVD, so I can fast forward through sections and see it on a TV screen, where it's much less assaulting to the senses.
You missed "Appaloosa", but I guess horses and trains would have been too tough to merge with all your flying cars and whiz-bang-
Great montage, and I love the song!
for total composition you have only two contenders. "SLUM DOG MILLIONAIRE" and "MILK" please don't argue.
You must like formula storytelling.
