I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Naturally, Vogue has a few ideas about what Michelle Obama should wear to the inauguration. Because the future First Lady has worn up-and-coming designers like Thakoon and Jason Wu, they asked a few other Vogue Fashion Fund designers for some sketches. Scroll down for two of them... click here for more.

I just love the black coat she wore on the train ride, but I think the best thing she wears - everyday - is her smile.

Michelle look so pretty in what ever she wears....Michelle wears what she feel comfortable in. This is what makes her stands out. She knows what she wants and she wears it well.

What a wonderful day although on the subject of Mrs. Obama's dress..As a fashion professional of some 30 years I did'nt find the dress lovely in the least bit...the use of fabric that cntained glimmer and a diamond like collar was so off for a morning event anywhere!!! together with Green shoes and gloves a wonder now what her EVening look will be

I thought Michelle looked beautiful and I loved the color. It was a
feel good day all around. Only bad - Teddy Kennedy had a seizure
and is being rushed to the hospital. I hope he is okay:)

Happy belated birthday Mrs, Obama, we wish you the best to you and your beautiful family a happy time at the White House and not only 4 but 8 years of successful time as Mr. President and First Lady, many happy returns from the Trenzado Family in Miami, Florida.

you're right... the only one that is "pretty" is the white gown..

Yes, anyone can.

Let's see . . .

Historic inauguration . . . First African American First Lady . . .

Short black skimpy dress showing too much skin. . . long white classy-looking elegant dress.

Which one? Which one?

So . . . is this what's known as a CHOICE in the media?

The Marchesa gown is stunning indeed, but the green Derek Lam dress is totally killer. She would look amazing in either one.

Anything's better than that pitiful rag she war at the inauguration.

What was she thinking.

This dress does appear stunning - quite a stark contrast to the one stated above.

Be nice.

Drinking and posting is never a good idea.

Lefty~

"The rag" had colors and emphasis of symbolism for the Obama's. It was chosen quite thoughtfully.

You are rude to refer to it as a "rag", even if it did not evoke the symbolism for the Obamas.

I'm not the only one who found it hideous.

There seems to have been a consensus on this.

Anyway, lighten up.

No one is perfect - not even the Obamas (halo above heads).

I think "rag" is fair. The color choices -yellow and green- were just unfortunate. Furthermore, the cut and volume of the coat / dress ensemble made her look dumpier than usual. I agree that it makes one wonder what she's going to show up in this evening!

Do you not think that just because something is not "your" choice it must be criticized? The lady is classy. My opinion, for what it's worth, is that I would much prefer to see her look comfortable in what she wears than try to be a fashion model.

Now for my opinion on her ball gown.. STUNNING!

I love the Marchessa gown!!!! I hope Michelle chooses something in that line - couture for the evening balls.

I know they couldn't possibly be suggesting Michelle wear that Alexander Wang dress..
Michelle is a classy dresser, that dress looks like something Britney Spears would wear.

The Marchesa grown is fabulous. I love it.

Both put emphasis on her wonderful shoulders. That woman could make a flour sack look stunning. That woman can go pull something off the rack at J.C.Penny's and look stunning. What a wonderful role model for young American women. Hurray!

Marchesa is fine. But that head is still going to show. What will be done about that head. Her head is the real challenge!!!

You're going to see that head a lot in the next 8 years. Get used to it. (You'll even learn to love it.)

rena~

Your head seems full of venom and hate. Take care of your own inner self before casting stones.

I see nothing wrong with Michelle Obama's head, but there is something wrong with yours.

Like the marchesa gown. It is elegant without being too loud or gaudy. She's tall and thin, and it sort of reminds me Clepoatra in a way...very regal. I don't think minidresses belong at Inaugural balls either. Some of the designs were too busy, or too informal. I really like this one, but they need to go easy on the sparkles, if you ask me.

White is the new "hot" color in gowns. I'd like to see her in a strapless, simple elegant white gown, with a diamond collar necklace. To top it off, a white mink jacket with diamonds around the forearm part of the jacket. Stunning.

I love the Marchessa gown, maybe in goldenrod or something paler in that color family.

I would reeeaally like to see the shoes and hand bag...accessories are my cup of tea!
