I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Blagojevich is from Chicago, and some say that city is a breeding ground for corruption. But Bill Daley, brother of Chicago's current mayor and a former commerce secretary under Bill Clinton, says the real problem lies to the south in the state's capital.

"It is more about Springfield and not about Chicago," Daley told me. "Springfield is away from the big city, there is not a lot of press down there, it is incestuous -- all one club -- and can be a cesspool."

Is he kidding, I live in Chicago and love it, but the Feds can come to Chicago every couple of years and grab a City Clerk or Alderman without even trying.

I almost want to agree with that statement except I have to remember Fast Eddie. The corruption in Chicago works smoothly compared to Springfield. Chicago has long lived with it's reputation so the corruption has become transparent. It only gets ugly when change comes to town.

Next time I hear one of those down staters cry about Chicago corruption I will have to remind them that Blago was able to pull this off down there where everyone was afraid to point finger for fear of someone looking back at them. The General Assembly has more to hide than Chicago.
