LOS ANGELES — Hustler magazine publisher Larry Flynt has sued two of his nephews for selling their own line of adult movies under the same family name.

Flynt accuses the nephews of producing pornographic films that are "inferior products" and "knockoff goods." Flynt said he filed the lawsuit Monday in U.S. District Court to protect his family name in the industry.

"To come into the adult entertainment business and use my name not only confuses people who buy my products, but if they're not maintaining a certain quality, it could also hurt my name," Flynt told the Los Angeles Times on Tuesday.

Jimmy Flynt II and Dustin Flynt worked for their uncle for more than a decade before he fired them about a year ago. The brothers said they are trying to break into the business and have a right to use their family name.

"If I can't use my name to do business, then what kind of society, what kind of world is that?" Dustin Flynt said.

He said his uncle was suing him out of "inferiority issues," and said trademark lawsuits were "a way for big business and rich people to put a muzzle on the little guy."

He said he worked his way up in the business over the years, and said his latest film "surpasses anything Hustler's ever done."

Larry Flynt said he fired his nephews for being unproductive and gave them a severance package of $100,000 that they used to start a competing company. He said he is unimpressed with that company's products and expects he will have to help out his nephews when it fails.

If Huffington Post cared enough about this story to insist on proper reportage, we may have seen some comparison studies of the two differing brands of porn so as to come to our own conclusions. More reportage please Huffingtons!

As far as I know, Alan Isaacman is still his lawyer. This should be an interesting case.

"Inferior porn" is redundant.

When I saw the headline, I thought I was reading The Onion.

Watch the documentary about him "the right to be left alone". Flynt fought harder for freedom of the press and freedom of speech than any politician or media outlet. While the media parroted everything Bush said, he sued to have access to frontline war coverage and he showed the hypocracy of senators and congressman during the Clinton impeachment. When other's were acting cowardly, he really stepped forward. He deserves some recognition outside of Hustler.

Flynt is not a champion of free speech. He is not a patriot. Remember the scandal a few years back, when he trashed the woman who was fairly far-left (Pacifica Radio?) for questioning him-- and put pictures "dedicated" to her of a woman strapped down and gagged in his magazine? What a fine, good man he is.

Believe me, Im no prude...quite far from it actually..wink, wink...but...Porn is a crime against the poor women who are used up in that industry.

It is a disgrace that supposed "progressives" dont see this as an economic crime....but find me one instance of where a daughter of the wealthy has entered that industry to be used like a piece of meat for a few hundred dollars a day.

It is not "empowerment" to be used in such a way. To watch "fun feminists" embrace this industry makes me worry very much for the future of our society. Its like if one has blue hair and tatoos makes one immune from the despicable misogyny of objectification.

I might be a little easier on this "freedom" if the "models" were all robots...actual robots...but until then, I hate it..

I need to view the evidence to see if they support Flint's argument
