The name was always going to be Nakoa-Wolf, but Jason did the research on first middle name, 2nd middle name as you know is Jason's.

This is what Republican trolls have been waiting to hear? Get a life!

Yes, it is. It has actual cultural significance for the parents, as opposed to a place you run on or what you shoot a gun with or a city in England you've never been to.

The baby's names are Hawaiian not African.

When nobody is paying attention to you, I guess you have to be creative to get someone to notice. Even it messes up your child and is really silly.

My mother had tree names not including her last name, and when I think back, I remmeber that I had at least 10 latin influenced or sounding names for my first born who I thought was going to be a boy. They all were 3-4 names before the surname...go figure. I smile when I think about that, and even given this I flinched when I read Lisa's names for her son. My two daughter have unique names, but not as wild as I had planed initially.

Lisa Bonet's always had an identity crisis re. her own bi-racial ethnicity.
She's obviously filling a void in the africian-american side here.

Hawaiian NOT African...never assume anything.

They can just call him Na-Wo-Ma-Na-Mo for short.

This is just pitiful; but i guess cuz she's so spiritual and deep and stuff she had to name her child after the weather, time of day, a warrior and a wild dog, in a africian langauage. Beat that Apple!

I am appalled at the lack of tolerance I am reading...

I just moved to Scandinavia 2 years ago...
You people would have a FIELD day with some names here...

they are MUCH shorter names ... but.. but to an American, sound very funny....
I for one am glad that in Sweden and Norway they still name their children traditional Scandinavian names.... and I am glad that Hawaii they are still using traditional names....

here are a few Scandinavian names that might sound funny to an American....

Boys names...
Od
Olf
Börd
Knut

Girls names....
Tova
Tovä
Tove
Gunilla

My point is this...

MANY cultures are going to have names that don't sound American....

that is NO reason to make fun of these other cultures....

I think it is a beautiful name they gave this child....

it is a strong name that has meaning...
and these are some strong parents who will raise this child to
have the strongest self esteem.....

I have NO idea what some of you have against Lisa Bonet....
but she is a BEAUTIFUL... STRONG woman.... with a VERY strong sense of self....
(by the way... the photo they used here was shopped to look creepy... she does not look like this at all)

My cousin named her boy:

Thorn

My sister named her two boys:

Kade
Skylar

Different, but very cool.

Nakoa-Wolf would have been taken by one of my family members if Lisa hadn't thought of it first. I like it.

Always remember Troy Davis.

I agree. Let people be, especially about their own childs' name. Ms. Momoa (Lisa Bonet) is an absolutely gorgeous woman, just living the life thats she has chosen, regardless of what others believe. Not everyone has the courage to do so. And if we did, we would wish her well, and her family too. Blessings.

Nice names to me... Seems like they have meaning of some kind. When I lived in Japan, I loved the name mika, Ai and Tsuka very common there.
