Judge To Rule On Whether To Jail Madoff Monday

A U.S. judge will issue a written ruling at noon on Monday on a request by U.S. prosecutors to revoke the bail of accused swindler Bernard Madoff and jail him, a court spokesman said on Friday.

Separately, a court hearing tentatively scheduled for Monday on the criminal charges against Madoff has been adjourned, his lawyer Ira Sorkin said.

I am sure that they would select appropriate actions for his crimes,
as the systems in place clearly are not able to do the right thing....

It was reported earlier that both the defense and prosecuters asked for more time (delays) before this bail hearing.

If they haven't put Bernie in jail by now, it looks to be a long shot it will happen.

While other swindlers are assisting to bring this country back into the financial net, Badoff will go to jail and will be used as the scapegoat for the cause of our problems. The pressure will be withdrawn from the main swindling bankers as they appear on the tv screens to expound esoteric knowledge and recommendations for our helpless, disappearing middle Americans. ThIs is controlled American justice in action.

Let's see, Madoff, all by himself, formed a company, solicited money from wealthy people, invested it, provided false quarterly statements, kept 2 sets of books, provided "profit" distributions on a regular basis, successfully defended himself against accusations of fraud by the SEC more than once,
worked next to his wife and brother, 2 sons and many of the same employees of his brokerage business for many years and was successful in alluding detection from family, employees, investors and the SEC. Sorry, but I don't believe it. I would not be surprised if Madoff's family members working at the firm at least knew about the scam and actively worked it.

Madoff is just one more nail in the coffin of capitalism. I am glad the press is focusing on him -- he personifies capitalism. Capitalism, in the last 30 years, has not made this country stronger -- it has put it into debt and has off-shored millions of good jobs. In addition, capitalism has done nothing to stop the advancing tide of world poverty. Some argue, and with good evidence, capitalism has made things much worse for the Third World (read _Confessions of an Economic Hit Man_ by John Perkins).
