(I like yours, by the way. Rhyme is so underdone by the famous poets, most of whom I find completely dull, unoriginal, derivative, snooty, and pointless.)

Lehman should be given a Presidential Medal of Honor for his life-time achievements in Shameless Self-Promotion. Then he should be exiled somewhere far far away where none of us will ever have to see or hear from him again.
There are some great living American poets.
David Lehman--ubiquitous as he is--ain't one of 'em.
He's like an anti-biotic-resistant strain of virus.
Alas and alack, American poetry really SUCKS.
Its narcissism cannot replace truly inspired creativity
necessary to write a fine poem.
