I Like ItI Don’t Like It

The Daily Show analyzed Barack Obama's Monday press conference, comparing his answers and straightforwardness to the press conference ways of President Bush. The segment was branded President Goofus and President Gallant and juxtaposed clips of the two.

One problem: Obama is open to others' ideas.

"Only your plan has merit!"

Another issue: Obama uses reporters names and outlets to call on questioners, as opposed to assigning seemingly random nicknames.

"The way you call on reporters must seek to belittle and demean the participants!"

Watch "The Daily Show's" Jason Jones go to pundit school

I understand that for the last eight years, Jon Stewart has really helped generate the hate for the bush administration because republicans are big meanies who don't let artists (and slackers) be themselves and pursue their craft. However, I really have high hopes that The Daily Show and other fake liberal news shows will sling some mean-spirited news about Obama and company once they assume control and start slipping up on the job. Am I wasting my time hoping that The Daily Show will air anything negative about the new president? Will the 2009 television season consist of all the left-leaning fake news shows fawning over the new president day after day?

Amen! And let's face it - when you're entire career has been during the Bushie era to hear Obama has to be pure culture shock.

Comics feared Obama being an intellect he provide them no material. I'm looking forward to clever humor like this in the next four years.

Obama has a lot to learn? We all do, including Jon Stewart.

Get over it.

At least you won't need an interpreter to try to decipher what the President just said over the next 4 years, a nose plug to hide the stink of crony corruption and money grabbing or a backhoe to clean up the mess.

Intellect is scary, but the country sure does need it.

Leave it to Jon Stewart to show by his incisive comedic wit, the essence of reality!

Great as always Jon!!!

I was worried that maybe--with an Obama presidency----he would be hard pressed to find a funny way to deal with the actual intelligence, rationalism and realism of the new order as opposed to the unreality of the past eight years--but leave to Jon and his talented writers to figure it out!!!

Great stuff! I knew I wasn't the only one who took immediate notice of the different approaches to winning the White House. Bush went prancing around the country, including Canada, telling everybody would listen that "the American people have spoken", like that razor thin margin of victory was a real mandate that vindicated him and his gangsters' carte blaunche approach to governance. Obama won by a much wider margin and still claimed that his victory was no mandate for him to ignore the millions of voters who did not vote for him but for McCain. Now that's class.

A 'book' of Biden gaffes?

Okay, you guys have your "57 States" mistake and a few Biden gaffes, which would probably amount to one small paragraph on a sheet of paper, and then we have the thousands of inane, semi-literate anti-intellectual blunders from the likes of Bush and Palin that would be longer than War and Peace.

Now, who's been smoking what?

For the last time, he was tired, he misspoke, he meant 47. He won, get over it.

The ironic thing about this puny, dim remark is that Obama and Biden can out-think, out- rationalize and out-perform all of the intellectually-deficient things of lincolnwalt's ilk. Easily ...

This was great! I'm sure someone will put together a blooper reel of "Bushisms"... so we will never forget! And never make the same mistake again!
