Well, someone is lying here; either Olmert or RIce and/or her staff. If Olmert isn't lying it just illustrates how much power the Israeli leaders have over the U.S. President, and by extension, America. I guess we serve at Israel's pleasure. When Olmert, or whoever the Israeli leader happens to be at the time, says "jump" we say "how high?"

Read the denials from State department "She was not at all embarrassed or ashamed of the actions that we took,". They don't dispute the facts they just dispute that she was embarrassed

Agree with Lizr. We should immediately stop funding Israel. Suppossedly they are in the top three of countries receiving aid from the U.S. no wonder they are our "best friend" in the Middle East. I don't consider them a friend and in fact blame them for most of the trust Arabs feel toward the U.S. we have not been objective.

I support Israel and I'm no fan of either Bush or Rice.

But I am an American, and the idea of a foreign leader going over the head of the Secretary of State, ordering our President off the stage and telling him that he can't vote for a cease fire, and Bush complying, is just preposterous.

If it happened, I would be surprised or not. Whether or not it happened, for Olmert to publicly make this statement humiliating both our SOS and POTUS is arogance. If Olmert really made this statement, he needs to be put in his place.
