USAService Announces Video Contest: Tell Obama What Service Means To You

As previously announced, the Obamas have chosen Monday, January 19, a day already filled with significance for its designation as Martin Luther King Jr. Day, as a National Day of Service.

On Friday, former secretary of state Colin Powell joined the chorus with his own call to action.

And on Tuesday, Michelle Obama sent out a video message asking Americans to join with her and Barack as they kick off the service initiative.

Today, UsaService.org, the new website launched by the inaugural committee, announced their Obama Service Video contest, in which everyday Americans can create and submit 3-minute videos on what service means to them.

Watch Kal Penn introducing the contest below:

The deadline for submissions is Thursday, January 15th at 11:59pm. You can learn more about the contest here.

And remember, keep coming back to the Living page to get the latest on service and what you can do to help.
