Steve King: Obama 'Bizarre' To Use 'Hussein' For Swearing-In

Apologize? Not so much.

But Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa), who last March predicted Al Qaida would be "dancing in the streets" if Barack Obama were elected president, now concedes that the dynamic has merely "shifted" on the terrorist front.

Barack Hussein Obama is his given name on his birth certificate. He can use it any way he want to use it.

Republicans has a fear of anything that sounds or looks like somebody or something that's Muslim. So they played up his middle name as a fear tactic...the same way they did poor Rachel Ray for wearing a certain scarf in a Dunkin Donut commercial until that commercial was pulled off the air.

I don't understand how these republican can even leave their house as scary they are.

OK, let me get this straight. FOX NEWS and Rush Limbaugh and that Cunningham guy, I can't remember his first name, but they along with anybody else in the Republican Party can use Mr. Obama's middle name any time they feel like it. During the campaign they made a sport out of using it to conjure up dark, scary images. When called on it they would say things like, that is his name why can't we use it. So I guess they can use it to disparage him but he can't use it because it will make Republicans uncomfortable. This has got to be the most preposturous story yet!!!!

Steve, let me help you out here: 1) It's traditional for Presidents to be sworn in using their full name. For example, "I George Herbert Walker Bush, do solemnly swear..." 2) Hussein is an Arabic word meaning "good boy" or "good looking boy." It's quite commonly used in the Middle East. You might be surprised to know that other countries have naming traditions, just like us. If it helps, you could consider Hussein to be roughly equivalent to oh, say, William or John. 3) A) If President Obama didn't use his middle name, wouldn't you immediately be able to spin that and accuse him of manipulating and deceiving the public? 3) B) Doesn't it in fact help your "cause" if Obama uses his middle name so that your base gets all stirred up about the secret Muslim thing again? 4) If your answer to questions 3 A and B are both yes, then ... for you isn't this a "win win" for you no matter what?
