Bushbooed

Former President Bush was welcomed to the inaugural podium with boos from the million-person plus crowd. The video below picks up some of the dissenting crowd. If you were watching the ceremony live, the boos were loud and clear throughout the mass of people.

I was booing in my living room, and felt left out not being there to throw a shoe or two.
04:52 PM on 01/24/2009
I was there, right on the mall, in the dead center of the biggest gathering of people I've ever seen. And the boo's were tremendous. Bush and Lieberman got the worst of it.
08:46 PM on 01/23/2009
This America, your allowed to boo when you want!!! And no deserves boos than George W. Bush, him and his cronies have but this country in the gutter for their petty ideological and religious reasons. good riddance, I hope he has to walk home!!

Bottom line?

There will be those who do not like how America expressed herself as the WORST PRESIDENT IN AMERICAN HISTORY departed. They do not like that history will remember that the man THEY VOTED FOR almost destroyed us, but we stood our ground and survived.

The ones who still think W was a good POTUS are using that same, damaged judgment when criticizing the citizens who showed their displeasure in the manner that American free speech allows. Their opinions are then rendered void by this realization. What they think is based on what they know, which is on the precipice of being nothing at all.

Wow there are people here that believe showing any discontent with a president shows no class. Well I am one of those no class people that speaks my mind and at times does not agree. Were Nazis of a high class because they did not speak out. Was Ghandi and Martin Luther King low class when they spoke out against the leaders of their country. Well Then yes I am definitely low class then and happy to be so. Here is a link to video I took of Bush being booed with the crowd reaction http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jgYAvqKrgM. most people are just waiting for his face to go off the screen so they can see a real president.

'The booing and singing just reflects on the character of the people doing it, and sadly on Obama's day. No 'class . . . absolutely NO CLASS!!! . . . just a bunch of low lifes. Hope this isn't going to be a taste of what's to come.
10:00 PM on 01/21/2009
Governor Bush is the classless one.

The list of his lies and atrocities is long and well documented.

The only one that "reflects" badly on the USA is him. Obama and the people that voted for him are saving America. The world instantly hates us less and all it took was getting that bozo (and his party) out of office. Too bad we didn't get it done in 2004.
12:11 AM on 01/22/2009
Thank god you saved the country! Wake up and look forward to the next 4 yrs when the those shown booing will be the corner stone of economic decisions and foreign policy!

I was there on the Mall and was one of the people who booed Bush. He sent trusting soldiers into a war for nothing. He lied to the American people. He practically flushed our world reputation down the toilet. You have to give respect to get respect, even if you're the President. We have the right to show him how we feel.
08:42 PM on 01/21/2009
This clown of a President repeatedly humiliated us as a nation as he insulted our integrity and intelligence. He will leave a legacy of incompetence, hatred and selfishness. He is lucky that he did not get dragged through the streets like Mussolini.
10:02 PM on 01/21/2009
Hopefully there will be a honest commission that researches and documents all of his atrocities. At least for the sake of history and what we teach our children.
12:13 AM on 01/22/2009
Your integrity???? Look forward to the next 4 yrs when the those shown booing will be the corner stone of economic decisions and foreign policy!

Your handle blows your impartiality.

Good Lord, do you guys have ONE SINGLE ADULT in the entire Wolf-pack of troIIs?

Send in a real challenge! Just for a change of pace!

Christ, this is sad.

Amazing how that one word of free speech said so much. After 8 years of pent up frustration in him, and the humiliation Americans endured through his ineptitude and ignorance, it was long overdue and duly deserved!
12:16 AM on 01/22/2009
Sorry that he was the cause of all your grief! Wake up and look forward to the next 4 yrs when the those shown booing will be the corner stone of economic decisions and foreign policy!
01:30 PM on 01/22/2009
You are not sorry. Grief makes you happy - a demonic way of being.

You keep re-posting the "It will feel even better over the next 4 yrs when those shown booing will be the corner stone of economic decisions and foreign policy!" Over and over. Stuck?

It is always reassuring to see one of the TroII-Bots just short out and crash on days like this.

You are an assigned Iiar, and now are revealed as such.

I look forward to your clever and challenging response. Do not be lame at this. Be intelligent and interesting. Be inventive, if you are even able to. Maybe I can even learn a thing or two from you. One never knows.

Best of luck to you.

Boo-Boo is stuck. Someone give him a little tap on the head.
07:07 PM on 01/21/2009
He had his party in control, his nation unified behind him and the world unified behind his nation. And, like his presidency itself, he squandered these. He took a nation in surplus, peace and prosperity and left it one of deficit, war and deep recession. He diminished the rule of law and our most precious freedoms while indulging his administration in cronyism, classism, incompetence and deceit. Time after time after time.

The first draft of this history has now been written. There is little ambiguity in its verdict. In pathetic desperation he with his few remaining followers cling to the hope that later drafts will somehow change the obvious. Clearly the worst president in modern history if not all time, it is fitting that his only acceptable job performance came as he was preparing to leave office.

Good riddance to him.

WOW - wave the flag! Look forward to the next 4 yrs when the those shown booing will be the corner stone of economic decisions and foreign policy! We'll see what the history books say then!

The flag was for, and by people who are 180 degrees the opposite of you.

GOOD Americans.

BUSH'S FIRST DAY IN OFFICE:

"After an exhausting Saturday capped by a night of inaugural ball-hopping, Mr. Bush woke early, had coffee with his parents and spent most of the day getting accustomed to his surroundings.

At moments, the 132-room mansion appeared somewhat unfamiliar to him despite his father's four-year tenure there. The new president listened carefully as a White House guide took him and supporters he had met on the campaign trail on a tour of the public rooms. Later he greeted some of the 2,200 people who had obtained tickets to the traditional first-day open house, a chance to see the Executive Mansion under new management."

I did not like Pres. Bush; I did not vote for him and I was happy to see him go. But booing an outgoing president is childish and serves no purpose. I'm ashamed of those who participated.
06:47 PM on 01/21/2009
Anyone who loves this country should be ashamed of Bush and what he has don eto his own people not to mention what he has done overseas. Maybe if you knew all of the things he has done you would viewing booing as a very very polite response.

Completely agree. Yes, he was a horrible president and has done criminal things, but there is a time and a place for everything, and this was not the time or the place. Obama would not have approved. The man has such class. Too bad everyone doesn't follow his example. I was at a party celebrating with other Democrats last night and we were all disappointed by the booing. Just tacky.
