I Like ItI Don’t Like It

At Tuesday night's Neighborhood Ball, Beyonce did the honors of singing the Obamas' first inaugural dance. She sang the Etta James classic "At Last," while the new first couple moved around the dance floor. Unsurprisingly, the 44th president is a fine slow dancer.

Wow, that was beautiful. I cried watching this (I see Beyonce was trying to hold back her tears).

Me too it was so beautiful!

The dress was so beautiful and so was the First Lady and President Obama.
It was not too revealing at all. Just lovely. Great choice!, Michelle.
Don't we all choose to buy and wear what we like. So what makes one think
that she should wear what someone else likes. Besides it not the clothes that
makes the person. It's the beauty inside of a person that's wearing the clothes.
Beauty and talent always outshines the clothes on has on their back.
Thank God for Michelle, President Obama and lets not forget Beyonce for all
of their many gifts and talents that they have shared with the world.
Let all believers in Christ pray for them all and those who despise them.

Too much Beyonce -- too staged and phony.

Mrs. Obama's dress was a bit too revealing for a first lady perhaps ... but I cant' undertand her taste in the clothes I have seen her wear in photos.
She'll improve, first ladies always do! Laura Bush was even more attractive and beautifully groomed after about a year in the White House.

What? How was her dress revealing- becasue she showed her very toned arms? She is 45 years old not 65? I think The First Lady looked very beautiful and had on an age appropriate dress. You should not hate on Beyonce, she did very well. I would be shaking like a leaf if I had to serenade the POTUS and the FLOTUS.

I don't think her dress was revealing at all. Although I was not crazy about it, i think Michelle looked just stunning. They are a beautiful, loving couple. This is such a positive for our country. We are blessed to have them. God Bless and keep them. Let's pray for them every night please.

As for Beyonce, I think she is talented and beautiful, but I'm TIRED of her. There's just overkill. That's why people are so critical of her. I know because at one time I loved her, then there came a day when I said 'if I see beyonce's face one more time, I will scream.' Now I can't enjoy her anymore. And although I can't say she's not talented and beautiful, I just say, 'Not her again.'

The only thing I agree with is.....Too much Beyonce. She was featured on the big screen more than the Obamas.

But everything else you said is totally wack. The only thing she revealed is shoulders and upper back. What should she have worn? The Snuggie Fleece Blanket, As Seen on TV?

The best thing they should of done was dim the lights on Beyonce and focus the attention on the OBAMAS! The media focus too much BS on Beyonce who cares!

By the way you guys heard what Beyonce's husband (Jay Z) said.........in a night club on inauguration weekend??? Trust me If our president heard this he WOULD NOT INVITED Jay z nor Beyonce! THEY R FAKE BOTH OF THEM! Jay z said something so negative and hateful as well as the rapper Young Jeezy! Check it out Bill O Riley was talking about it.
I dislike Bill O Riley but for the first time I agreed with him! They both should be ashamed.

As for Michelle I think she was beautiful. I do agree the only thing with that dress the designer should of cut the length. It made it difficult for her to dance. I love MIchelle! I think she is real and shows she not a celeb! She act like regular folks and is being relatisic with prices of clothes for herself an dher kids. I love her period she is my idol.

Aw, this was a really touchy video... Just beautiful.

This dance and song were great. The first lady is almost 6 ft. tall, they make a striking couple. Her taste is her taste,,the only person this confident woman has to please is herself.

Dammit, Mr. President -- why you gotta make life more difficult for the rest of us men!? Now we're *all* going to be expected to slow-dance!

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 02:17 PM on 01/23/2009

Not to much to ask is it ? Learn it, Love it, & Do it. You'll do just fine. Especially if it's with the one you love. It's just a little something to please the one you're with.

This was just breathtaking. I still can't stop watching it. Wow, this is an iconic moment in history.

President Obama and First Lady Michelle were just beautiful. I was skeptical about Beyonce, but she was flawless. That dance was magic ladies and gentlemen.

Way too much Beyonce!! Why was she chosen to sing at the concert and ball? In my opinion she has a shreaky voice. There are many other talented people that could have done a better job! The Obama's looked fantastic!!

I like Beyonce, but the O's have been dancing to the Etta James' classic for so long. Any one know why Etta James wasn't asked to perform?

SOME FASHION ISSUES:
I just wish Michelle had had this new designer shorten her gown a tad so that she could dance with her husband properly. Or leave off that blasted train completely--after all it was a BALL! All night she was pulling the dress away from the back and it was ungainly and awkward in what should have been an enchanted moment for the whole nation...
Also wish she'd worn black gloves and shoes with her yellow outfit. Would've looked more elegant.
And finally, WHY wear a pretty, but glorified, house dress to the formal service at the National Cathedral? All the other women had on suites and were properly dressed, and Michelle looked like she was off to a picnic. Big missteps for an otherwise really well-dressed woman with a lot of style. Come on girl, get it together!

Oh give it a rest, or perhaps you were raised on Tara with Vivien Leigh...." Don't say what's really on your mind!"....or good for you you give a damn. I agree, shoes should match the gloves. ( At least her inaguration dress was perfect. Beauty.) - Most people did not see this dance anyway.

Ball gowns typically have trains, dear.

Love the Obamas.

But I can't stand how all these stars acted like it was THEIR night to shine, as if they took home a grammy or and oscar. It's not about them. Can we have just one event in this country that isn't overshadowed by attention-seeking celebrities?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 03:53 PM on 01/22/2009

Are the stars not allowed to be excited and touched by the moment like everyone else was?

We're tired of seeing it though. After this huge grassroots effort, who gives a fig about celebs?

Well said!
I wish celebrities would just back off for a change... do I dare say it? Not everyone appreciates their style of music.

Why the anger? A lot of them worked very hard during the primaries (Will.I.Am for example), organized events, helped register voters and donated money. This was obviously their gift to the president.

Exactly. I like Beyonce, but I've always thought her voice was just pleasant and not powerful. This performance though, bought something out in her I've never heard before. She was amazing.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:39 PM on 01/23/2009

The Obamas didn't choose her, the inauguration committee did - the same with all the other performers (i'm sure they're probably fans though).

I agree, I think the committee could have chosen someone with more of a 'legendary' status for the occasion (examples: gladys knight, patti labelle, etc.). Then again, Beyonce's father is quite the hustler in the industry......

Unsurprisingly, the 44th president is a fine slow dancer.

Now we just need someone to teach him how to dance better to uptempo songs lol.

The white dress Michelle wore has grown on me. It is kind of wedding like, which fits the occasion.

The President and the First Lady are a sight to behold! It was absolutely a touching moment. I shed tears of happiness for the first couple. They are just wonderful!

Thank you Beyonce for singing to them.
