A Chicago radio station is offering embattled Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich a new job.

During a show early Thursday, the program director at WLS-AM announced that if Blagojevich resigns, the station will offer him his own weekly radio program from noon to 2 p.m. on Sundays.

Program director Bob Shomper said the station is asking the governor to spare the state the embarrassment and expense of forcibly removing him from office.

Blagojevich has been impeached by the state House and faces an impeachment trial in the Senate starting Monday that could end with his removal.

Shomper says the station's offer reflects the will of the people, who he says want the governor gone. Messages left for the governor's spokesman were not immediately returned Thursday.

Take the job player. Two unemployed executives in one household is a prescription for disaster.

I think other posters are missing the point... Blago claims to not want to resign because he needs the money (especially now that Patti lost her cushy $100K/year gig). This would give him money, and make him far less dangerous to the people of our state. So who cares if nobody listens?

Why would anyone listen to this narcissistic, delusional self serving idi.ot? The world is scary enough without this guy on the airwaves. He belongs in jail, where no one has to listen to his insanity or poetry.

I would listen, absolutely.

Im in Baltimore, and right or wrong our Police Chief (NY native) got in some trouble (corruption charges) and to do some house arrest.

While on house arrest he would call in to t daily talk show run by two younger guys. When he was released the studio killed the show and gave him his own, 4 years later and the guy is still on daily.

Yes, every Governor of a state aspires to get a job in radio!
Ridiculous. Still, it would be great if he would do it. And surely he would be better than Rush.
