The Bush twins wrote a letter to Sasha and Malia Obama, with their advice for how to handle life in the White House. "Today" asked if they would read the letter to viewers -- and they agreed. Watch:

Barbara and Jenna Bush advised the girls to "go to anything and everything you possibly can ... Just go. Four years goes by so fast, so absorb it all, enjoy it all!"

They advised the girls to surround themselves with loyal friends, cherish their pets, go to T-ball games, have swimming parties, and generally "have fun and enjoy your childhood in such a magical place to live and play."

This world would be a much happier place if you people would just stop rushing thru life and stop & cherish the small things and not focus completely on what you have no affect on. After all none of you are president and have no clue what kind you would be. . The people that hate him would probably hate you just as much or may even [ God forbid, i hope not ever] Obama one day. Thats how the public has become. Yall love misery. Gone the days of reveling in someones happiness, now we are only interested in their failures and wrongdoings. Once and Last again, Shame on you. I am disgusted Most importantly, your friends and family won't be around forever. Cherish your life and stop worrying about others. I am so ashamed of you people. Presidents are under such stress and pressure and they are only human. To ere is human, to forgive divine. I'm not saying he should be forgiven, I don't think he has done anything ANY OTHER PERSON wouldnt have. Now Clinton was an obvious piece and it seems people think he is better than bush, let me ask you this, Which one would get into Heaven first? Bush or Clinton? Bush. There were presidents that we all love that owned and kill slaves, yet you don't hate them, but you do bush. I'm just saying you people should be ashamed. IF you are not, i am for you. You people make me very sad, i hope one day you will all see the light. Bravo Bush family. Boo to the cruelity of the immature public. Have a good hate free day people. Hug your kids or your parents. Sip your coffee while watching the sunset. Remember how beautiful this earth is. Mind your own business. The golden rule, which is obvious your kindergarden teachers failed to mention to yall. Treat others as you would like to be treated. Most importantly, your friends and family won't be around forever. Cherish your life and stop worrying about others.

The Bushes leave warm letters.

The Clintons left vandalism.

It gives a different insight into our leaders.

You are wrong. The Bushes leave a trillion dollar deficit, 4000 dead american service people, millions of dead Iraqis, an economy in shambles, joblessness, 3000 killed in an attack that might have been avoided if Mr Bush paid attention to security breifs, and an America tainted by war crimes. And that is just the tip of the iceberg. This letter was self serving, The bushes showed their pettiness by not allowing the Obama family to stay at Blair house, although it was not really being used. Bushes go away, until we call you back for your trial.

So Bush should have ignored lies like "Saddam Hussein has spent the better part of this decade, and much of his nation's wealth, not on providing for the Iraqi people, but on developing nuclear, chemical and biological weapons and the missiles to deliver them."?

Or should he have been like Clinton and ignore the terrorist acts against the US and hope they go away. Unless you hadn't noticed Clinton passed those on to Bush.

As for the Blair house. It was already reserved for the Australian President. By tradition past incoming Presidents did not move into the Blair house until 5 days before inauguration. Obama ask for 10 days after Bush had the Blair house reserved. If Bush had kicked the Prime Minister out on the curb like you propose you would complain about that too.

Are you joking?

Besides it was Bushes daughters that wrote the letter, not bush.

You DO believe in anything and everything (gossip). The Clintons did not vandalize anything. The incoming Bush administration said that the Clinton administration removed all the Ws in all of the computers keyboards. Later it was believed to have been just a joke. The administration said that was "just a joke". It is pathetic to know that people like you still exist on this planet and still can't leave the Clintons alone.

See http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/t/trashingthewhitehouse.htm

"The final, official report from the Government Accounting Office was released on June 11, 2002. The 220 page document says there was damage, although not as much as some of the early reports had suggested. The GAO says the damage included 62 missing computer keyboards, 26 cell phones, two cameras, ten antique doorknobs and several presidential medallions and office signs. The damage estimate was about $20,000. Clinton critics say the report proves that the departing Clinton staff members acted recklessly and disrespectfully."

I believe the GAO. The vandalism was not gossip.

The difference shows the attitude and cooperation the Bush administration offered Obama compared to that of the Clintons. One has been a smooth transition. The other was not.

"Many people will think they know him, but they have no idea how he felt the day you were born, the pride he felt on your first day of school, or how much you both love being his daughters. So here is our most important piece of advice: remember who your dad really is."
They may not appreciate this advice now, but unfortunately the day will come when when they might need it when the pubic and the press are not quite as understanding as they are now. Well done Bush twins.

I've read MOST of the posts.. and it seems to me that no one bothered to mention that the Bush twins were asked by the "TODAY" show to "read" their letter over the air. Seems to me that The Bush Daughters had the choice to do so or simply say no thanks. I think their "choice" is what has rankled most of the bloggers. On e shows class by ones actions. I'm more concerened with the "MEDIA"..on thisone, the media is alwaysn hungry for the BIG story, claiming that the "public" has a need to know. Well, i'm part of the "public" and frankly i could care less. I mind my own business, and expect other sto do the same, I just want the new President...AND Congress to do what we have elected them to do...

Most of these comments sound like we have many people in America who had lousy parents. You're bitter hateful people. Perhaps your parents can try again.

We should all allow children to have unconditional love for their parents. They can not help who their father is. if we start judging on that I'm toast because you guys should meet my mother. Frankly I think Bush must have at least done something right in parenting - as the girls are something to be proud of. Keep your anger directed at him and not the girls?

Don't even have the decency to start their letter with "Dear..."?
And 4 years? You wish.

As for the video "to the Obama children", it's just another attempt to rehabilitate Bush.

Probably Rove's idea.

The twins may love their dad, but everyone seems to be forgetting that he was a drunk through most of their childhood.

Maybe they never saw it, were never harmed by it. Maybe they're exhibiting some stereotypical children-of-a-alcoholic thing. I don't know.

Maybe they love the dad he's become.

In any case, he's hardly been a "great dad" in any objective sense.

I think this was a very nice jester on the part of the Bush twins. They are the daughters of the worst president of our time, and I do believe they know this to be true, but like all children will not freely admit the faults of their parents. In their eyes he is a man of great "love and honor" but they first need to ask themselves who exactly does he love and who does he honor? It surely is not the american people.
I wish them the best.

Alright so you happen to be The Wise Man that knows All, so let me ask you this. You said yourself "maybe they're exhibiting some steroptypical children-of-a-alcoholic thing. I don't know." Well dang, maybe you're not all that wise afterall, since you "don't know." Now if you knew much but children of alcoholics, they tend to resent their alcoholic parents. This we all know to be true. Also what i ask of you, What to you is a "great dad" in your book? He did something right. They aren't in jail, havent killed anyone, and they love their father enough to stick by him no matter what the disgusting public says of him. So in my book, he's must be a pretty "great dad." Also in my book, for you to be such a bitter cynical old man, your old man couldn't have been that great.. See how does that feel to have your fathers name slandered in public like that? Better yet with alegations that i have no back up information for it to be true. Thats how they feel.Thats my piece for this one.

Bush quit drinking in 1986 when the twins were five. Hardly "most of their childhood".

I don't mind the letter particularly, though the "four years" thing is questionable. I do take exception to the introduction referring to the departure of president Bush and the arrival of Barack Obama. Shouldn't that be the other way around?

Seems like they had to say it the way they did. Mr. Bush never arrived in 2001. At least not completely. So when his aides finally found him wandering around giving Mr. Obama a tour of his hangout, they put a stamp on his forehead and sent him back to Texas. So now there's a REAL president on the job, and it seems to follow that this President has ARRIVED.

Weren't the twins adults by the time their dad took the oath for the first time? Perhaps why they had to go back to the time grandpa bush took the oath. The twins didn't grow up in the WH like the Obama children will, so their experience isn't similar. I would be less cynical if the twins sent a private letter to the Obama girls and, the Obama family made it public. But an open letter? That was strange even if the twins where as sincere as all get out.
