The Telegraph:

At least four human rights groups are believed to be compiling suits alleging that Israelis perpetrated war crimes in planning or carrying out the three-week operation Cast Lead.

Daniel Friedman, Israel's justice minister, was appointed to head a special task force to defend individuals detained abroad and the military censor declared that names of officers from lieutenant to colonel must not be published.

At the time of writing, after 23 days of bombardment, more than 1,300 Palest.nians have been killed by Isr.ael, including 410 children and 104 women, while 5,300 are seriously injured, of whom 1,855 are children and 795 women. Israel has shelled three clearly marked UN schools, the existence and GPS coordinates of which IsrA.el had been repeatedly notified. Israel has shelled the headquarters of UNRWA, the UN's relief agency (which is responsible with providing aid to 750,000 Palest.inians), and it has shelled and bombed hospitals, ambulances, and medical personnel.

Americans need to toss our relationship with Israel in the trash where it belongs, the same way we (finally, finally) tossed Bush, Cheney & Condi. But we need to take care that these criminals do indeed find their way to the trash (or, better yet, prison) and not the recycle bin. The time is long overdue to close these shameful chapters in U.S. history. And, make no mistake: Israel's history belongs to us; the blood on their hands is on our, so long as we send them billions of dollars per year, PLUS weaponry and kudos to commit their atrocious crimes against the Palestinians.

Olmert gave the order to attack a UN Humanitarian compound and in the process nearly killed the UN Secretary General. But not to worry, the US will always side with Israel and if push comes to shove Alan Dershowitz will defend them free of charge(in exchange for the book rights).

that would be funny if it weren't so true.

Good.

No one is above the law, no one is excused for war crimes: not America, not Hamas, not Israel.

Not Bush, not Cheney, not Hamas leaders, not Israeli soldiers, officers, or government leaders.

I hope the self-proclaimed moral leader of the middle east is open and honest about it's behavior over the past few months. They do need to answer a lot of questions, with actual proof about their wild claims, especially with regards to the bombing(with both white phosphorous and explosive ) of schools, hospitals and U.N buildings and aid depots.

The SOLDIERS are warned about the impending War Crimes trials? The soldiers were the tools of their commanders and government leaders. These leaders are the ones to be tried for war crimes, not the soldiers. Scapegoating again just like it was done in U.S. Gitmo torture cases.
