President Obama warned Republicans on Capitol Hill today that they need to quit listening to radio king Rush Limbaugh if they want to get along with Democrats and the new administration.

"You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done," he told top GOP leaders, whom he had invited to the White House to discuss his nearly $1 trillion stimulus package.

there is nothing inherently wrong with listening to anybody. You gleen from those that makes sense and toss aside those that do not. If you are unwilling to hear someones thoughts then you have a clouded mind and will only hear what you want to hear. Get a Grip! No one is asking you to follow the man...but don't be one of the sheep in the flock who only goes along because you don't have a mind of your own.

Dad, I hope you are reading this and it inspires you to quit once and for all. Use the patch. Join a support group. Maybe a 12 step program. But seriously, for your own good and because we love you, STOP LISTENING TO RUSH!!

Your son.

The bottom line is that most Americans are waking up to realize that they do not want what the repubs say they should want.

Only the dunces are still hanging in now, and dunces all do themselves in with a little nudge.

GOP will embark upon a long term strategy to learn this "uppity" President Obama manners!

Defeated Republican "roosters" still want to rule the roost.

Better yet, trap them into slapping themselves down, which they are well known for.

There will come a point where Mr. Obama shifts or pivots and it will be not be telegraphed and will prove devastating to his foes as well as his friends who are talking out of turn because they are happy drunk on power. Why do I think this? Because the GOP is correct. Obama remains an unknown quantity, not in morality, decency, fitness or readiness to lead, but in fierceness and ability to stomp out fire of dissent against turning back corruption and tyranny and their child named “Mass Public Suffering”. Barack Obama as an individual citizen is a gifted intellectual with a good heart. Barack Obama as president, facing the enormous challenges of our times, will be transformed by the urgency of the necessity to be effective in leadership and the realization that certain evil can only be defeated at the root.

Thus far he has been as water that is calm. He has been genuine in his attempt to be inclusive. As the GOP makes it clear to the public that they will never change he will pivot to deliver a devastating blow to the enemies of the state, the tax cut cheerleaders of grift, graft, and shaft. He will become the beast that consumes the hopeless and hapless proponents of “more of the same”. This is strictly my opinion formed by a gut instinct that Mr. Obama knows his enemy and knows that defeating his enemy is a complex affair requiring multiple, seemingly contradictory moves.

Godspeed Obama.

President Obama knows he only has a short time to implement his policies with the majority of both houses right now. Bush is gone and President Obama knows he needs to find someone for the left to rally against.
Limbaugh is the VOICE (not the leader) of conservative thought. Conservatives can be called mindless, dumb, sheep, or any other names you wish to. But, it doesn't change core beliefs.
The immature comments will only serve to solidify conservative beliefs.

"It was about raaace!!!!!" (referring to Powell's endorsement of Obama) Ever since he said that, I just try to pretend Limbaugh doesn't exist. Its hard to do when he keeps getting baited to spew more crap because he keeps getting acknowledged. Limbaugh is not qualified to do anything but run his stupid mouth on radio and Obama should not even dignify his name by uttering it.

Why is Obama giving legitimacy to Limbaugh the clown? Why play dunk the drunk with Rush?

Rush Limpbaughlls is the sort of "patriot" who dodged the draft during the Vietnam War and collected welfare checks for two years while other people paid taxes to keep him alive. He is an "ideology-first, what's-in-it-for-me" kind of Republican. And no one takes him seriously except for conservatives. Of course he hopes Obama will fail over the next 8 years.

I think that from the comments, President Obama was not understood. It sounds to me like he is saying we can't sit on our a55 es, listening to rhetoric or jokers and think of that as getting something real accomplished. He said he is going to be asking much of us and this seems to be a comment alerting us to that reality.

From Fox News

During his private meeting with congressional Democrats and Republicans on Friday Obama said this about rising above typical partisan differences: "We're all political animals, we've all got political bases," the president is reported to have said, " But we can't let people like Rush Limbaugh stall this. That's how things don't get done in this town."

Democrats said the president was trying to call attention to the need for Republicans and Democrats to concentrate more on areas of agreement than differences. In the main, Republicans agree with Obama.

In the biggest concession of all, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has said the package should pass by mid-February, the Democrats' line-in-the-sand legislative deadline. By refusing to threaten a filibuster to block the bill, McConnell is guaranteeing passage of a bill that reflects Democratic priorities and reaches Obama's desk on his timeline.

The "I won" comment came after Rep. Eric Cantor, R-Va., said Republicans believed cutting income taxed would do more to stimulate economic growth than providing a $500 per person payroll tax refund for individuals earning less than $200,000. The president said, according to those present, that this was an important philosophical divide between Republican and Democrats and that it had already been settled -- and would remain settled -- because he won the election

So much for being intimidated by the likes of a Rush Limbaugh.

According to Fox News, both comments were taken out of context by other MSM outlets. This stuff isn't even really relevant. Every move or statement Obama will be scrutinized. I've never seen anything like it.

Sorry, but just because President Obama was elected doesn't mean I'm going to stoop as low as to even give Fox an ounce of my time by legitimizing them. They are not a legitimate news source. We should have learned that from the elections.
