Rumer Willis: "I Kind Of Freaked" When Demi Brought Home Ashton

First Posted: 2/25/09 Updated: 5/25/11

Rumer Willis

Celebrity offspring Rumer Willis, 20, may be making a name for herself, but she talked about mom Demi Moore and stepdad Ashton Kutcher with the UK Daily Mail.

Rumer, an actress, opened up about looks ("I hate my jaw") and aspirations before talking about the time Demi brought home Ashton for the first time and what he means to her now.

'When Ashton came into our lives, he was just an extension of our family,' she says. 'He's like a friend as well as a stepdad. We talk about everything - auditions, boyfriends, family. He understands more than my parents sometimes because he's closer to my age.

'Ash was a heart-throb, to me,' she grins. 'I had pictures of him on my wall at boarding school and I remember my mom saying that her new "friend" Ashton was going to come and hang out with us. And I said, "Whoa, wait - Ashton Kutcher?" and I kind of freaked out a little bit. I definitely blushed.

'But I got over any strangeness because I'd never seen my mom happier. It was like watching two 16-year-olds who were going to the prom together and were totally in love.'

Read the whole interview.

Ashton looks like her son and yes, he should have been dating Rumer. But, he has an oedipal complex and needs mummy. I wish she'd give him a proper haircut! Plastic surgery changed her looks a great deal; wait till it starts drooping.....by the way, so what if Rumer has a protuding chin, Mommy did too before she went under the knife. And are you perfect?

This quest for eternal youth via plastic surgery and younger partners is too, too pathetic. How sad.

You know, jealousy is pretty pathetic, too.

Some people actually find love with a partner of a different age. What should they do? Give up the chance for a life partner until they can find someone their own age?

Hey! Quit busting her jaw!

Julie Andrews had a prominent jaw and she went on to have a prominent career.

Like DOH! ..a deer, a female deer.

Gee does this sound like we saw this movie already with Woody Allen and Mia Farrow? allI have to say is EWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.
01:53 PM on 01/27/2009
*chuckles* Can you imagine the conversation that Ashton might have had with Bruce? I doubt Ashton will be pulling a "Woody Allen" in this family.
07:58 PM on 01/27/2009
Keep Allen out of this. Please, just remove Allen from your statement. ;-)

It is amazing the amount of comments and silliness about and from celebrities. I love the movies and I love good and great acting but these people are not it folks. Who cares? is my reaction....

But it's ok for 100-year old Larry King to have a young wife? Rupert Murdoch? Clint Eastwood? Billy Joel's wife is like 40 years younger than him.

Ashton and Demi's age difference pales in comparison to any of those. And so what? At least they are not homewreckers, unlike Brangelina, Madonna, Ethan Hawke, Jude Law, and sooo many more.

This is based on the fact that men have always been the providers (money) and women provided the beauty/youth/fertility.
This model is beginning to outlive its usefulness, but too many men hang on to it (seek a much younger, sexy wife) and too many women do as well (money/material is a high priority for them, even if they have well-paying jobs)
Maureen Down seems to think its biological, and thus inevitable, that men swagger and pay for everything while women act cute, young and coquettish.
I think she's dead wrong.

Don't forget Bill Clinton, Picasso, Jerry Lee Lewis...

Any lists of old cougars after young men?
09:06 AM on 01/27/2009
Rumer Willis is a living Conan O'Brien "If They Mated" segment.

Theres a theory that a woman who dates a younger man will reverse her emotional maturity and age to match that of her honey's. In other words, she regresses. So yeah, I could see the hole "acting like 16 year olds" since Ashton is perpetually 16. Hey, its just a theory...

Her jaw is quite prominent.

Yes, it is...

It reminds me that dinosaur that eats meat and plants...

Tyrannosaurus Rex?
08:10 PM on 01/27/2009
...regardless, though tyrannosaurus might have been a tyrant, tyrannosaurus, unlike a royal wreck, was a regal rex.

Jaw just kinda reminds me of Barney and everybody knows that Barney was a lovable purple dinosaur, in our imagination.

Who cares about these freaks anyway? They are ridiculous and really have nothing but "celebrity" to offer this society, which is really not much.

Thank you, speakyourmind! If I see one more "who cares about celebrities" comment in the freaking entertainment section of Huff Po I am going to scream.

Who cares about celebrity, swoosie1? Um, you, for one. Why else would you comment?
