GOP Chair Candidate Attacked With Fake "Whites Only" Newspaper Cover

Parody Paper

The Plum Line:

Uh oh -- it looks like viral email dirty tricks (okay, parodies) are now entering into the race for Republican National Committee chair.

This image of a parodied USA Today cover is being anonymously blasted around among Republicans -- it imagines what the front page of the paper will look like if South Carolina GOP chair Kayton Dawson, who was a member of a whites only club, wins the RNC chairmanship:

The only question is if this faked screen shot is supposed to be a warning to the Republicans to stop this nonsense, or is it CELEBRATING the fact they want this guy for the position...

Knocking The First Lady for choosing an Asian American designer and a Latino designer is very, very unfair. I don't believe for one second that the Obamas are going to leave African-American designers out in the cold. No one can convince me of that. I mean, of course Michelle Obama is going to wear dresses from black designers (she wears them throughout the year).

Michelle Obama is going to continue to reach out to different racial and ethnic groups for designers with great styles. She has to. Her position as First Lady of The United States mandates that she speaks to both the color-specific differences that make us unique (because they exists and are real) as well as the color-neutral commonalities that bring us together. The current composition of this country demands it.

But, I can't help wondering how things would have been if Ms. Eele said this instead: “I will continue to celebrate Michelle Obama’s wonderful, awe-inspiring style, and, through my group, and others, consistently suggest ways she can maintain that style through the creative visions of designers, representing the total richness of America’s racial and ethinic diversity. I want to help her in that process.”

She should have said that instead.

No, you're just too used to modern non-punctuation! It's happening to all of us.

Where I live, there are all kinds of signs like, "No shoe's, no service" and "Position's available." Eventually, we'll all write like that.

Its inevitable. I mean, it's.

The most ironic thing is that there is a punctuation typo in the headline. I suspect Sarah Palin was the proofreader.

God bless 'em, the RNC is not the brightest bunch! But keep up the great work!!

Love,
Any democrat

Rethuglican in-fighting is always entertaining. Let them go ahead and cannibalize themselves. This should be interesting to watch - like a train heading straight for the precipice ahead. Everyone can see what's coming next, except the crazies on board. Anyone got popcorn?

The fact that they are even seriously considering that racist tells us that the GOP is way beyond repair.

The headline is a fake. The story isn't. All Republicans may not be racist, though I don't personally know any who are beyond suspicion, but racism and Republicanism certainly go together since the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Normally, you have to know a Republican in a close personal way for a number of years before they will let their racism show in front of you. But when it happens, you know it was lurking there all along unacknowledged.
