Joe Biden

CNN Political Ticker:

An aide to Vice President Joe Biden tells CNN he called Chief Justice John Roberts last week to apologize for a light-hearted remark he made over the flubbed Inauguration Day oath of office.

"My memory is not as good as Justice Roberts, Chief Justice Roberts," Biden said last Wednesday, as he asked for a copy of the oath he was using to swear in senior members of the White House staff.

The funny thing is CJ Roberts, will be remembered (go down in history) for his inaugural uber flub!
Not for any critical Supreme Court decisions! HA!

It's like fainting in a wedding and having it captured on video; it will never go away ;-)

And in exchange for Biden's apology, Roberts should promptly step down from the bench for incompetence.

Joe Biden is an Irishman with a sense of humor. I am sure in his family they make jokes about each other all the time. He seems to be a very decent man. I am sure he meant nothing by his remark about Roberts. But he became concerned about how it might have looked and so he called to apologize. I doubt seriously that Obama "took him to the woodshed".

Having served in the Senate most of his adult life, Joe Biden has many things he can apologize for.... MANY. Apologizing to Roberts, for making light of an historic flub, videoed for many generations to view, does not seem worthy of the effort.

Yes, I remember Obama'a big gaffe about Nancy Reagan and séances at a major press conference no less. It was humorous but perhaps a little too much. He keeps himself well guarded now; almost to the uber extreme.

Joe gently ribbed CJ Roberts while he ribbed himself during standard proceedings and life went on. I suppose as VP one apologizes...but I've seen the whole clip and read his words and say "WTF?" Biden doesn't need to apologize for this. I'm curious if Obama suggested he do it. Tight ship, eh?

This thing with Biden was made such a huge deal when Roberts made the biggest gaffe possible. I've looked but don't find any big press release of Roberts apologizing. Maybe he's special.

Love you Joe, because you are one of the few real deals in politics.

Nothing bad Joe; I'm looking forward to some Black jokes in the future from you. Maybe an old Pollack joke from your buddy Rob Reiner

Strange how the POTUS is written as "obama" and the VPOTUS is "biden." Yet you capitalize Roberts and "Nance" Reagan. Talk about no class. You obviously were referring to yourself.

The bideN thing may have been innocent, but you have to admit that obamA's nancY reagaN joke was a little tasteless.

Why apologize? A sense of humor is always appropriate...especially in politics. John Kennedy had a great sense of humor.

I love Joe. I know Obama wanted to slap him, but it was so funny.
I love Joe like I love Bill Clinton - they are just SO MUCH FUN to have around, in the spotlight, i.e., Clinton's recent, "I like that rug," thing. LOL.
I look forward to more of Joe in the future. I'm sure someone's already working on the Joe Biden Box Calendar.

Lighten up all you political correctness nazis. He was joking for god's sake. Is the chief justice above humor? He wasn't insulting the office, he was insulting the dummy who sits in the office.
