I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Obama's red-brick house in the Hyde Park/Kenwood neighborhood is protected by concrete barricades at either end of his block. Chicago police cars stand guard, humming, and signs warn that anyone going near is subject to a search.

But the barricades don't block Jonathan Wong's view. The 16-year-old junior at Whitney M. Young Magnet High School lives in a condo with a balcony that looks out on the Obama home. He said he has offered tourists a photo-op from his perch, asking for a small donation, like $10.

This is dangerous to our President. I am sure he will visit there once in a while. Where is the secret service?

Is this just a stop gap business venture while waiting for the stimulus package?

Cook County authorities will shut him down for operating a business without a license, not paying city, state, and federal taxes, and not paying Mayor Daley's "fee" for doing business in Chicago. Rabble-rousers will be outside his house protesting that he doesn't hire enough women or minorities, doesn't offer health insurance, won't let his workers form a union, and that he's making a windfall profit.

Another American entrepreneur crushed by the Left.

Free enterprise at it's best!

As he is too young to vote...let's just hope he doesn't become the poster boy for the GOP - no stimulus needed.

Will the people that own his house(I didnt see a mention of parents) have to pay taxes on the additional earnings he has been making in the home?(Id assume, him being 16 he doesnt have to pay taxes) :P

But is it considered self employment? heheheh.

Why do you assume that 16 year olds do not have to pay taxes on their income? And why do you laugh at the thought of self=employment?

I like the kid's entrepenuerial spirit, too bad he'll have to be shut down due to safety concerns.

In hard times the kid found a way to make a few bucks - have to give him credit for that. But I would imagine the secret service isn't too happy.

Oh the Secret Service will be paying him a visit in a day or two. His business will be shut down, reason National Security.
