Sustainable design can result in some really impressive, beautiful buildings, furniture, cars -- just about anything.

But beautiful, sustainable design in public places goes even farther than that. It can acclimate passersby to the idea that, say, solar power has a place in their lives. Check out this video on a very cool "solar tree" light design.

The technology is great BUT seems like planting a real tree is "greener". It's a pretty good work of art though!

That seriously ended in a Lexus commercial? The concept of the "solar tree" is very cool, but that kind of damaged the whole aesthetic appeal of the video.

it's a giant table lamp! ooooooooooooooooooooooo so mind boggling. in sincerity , it's a great idea whose idea has not come, although they're working on it . what hasn't come are the led's. in my opinion, the visual quality of led light is worse than fluorescent. Soften led like to the tone of tungsten and then you've got something.

That kind of thinking should be an inspiration to us all. Well done!
