Steve Martin appeared on The Late Show With David Letterman tonight and discussed his harrowing experience on US Airways Flight 1549, the plane that crashed into the Hudson River. Letterman had exclusive footage of the star escaping the plane and pictures of him smiling wildly during the rescue.

Martin is touring late shows to promote a banjo album for children he made and The Pink Panther 2.
