Benny Dagan, Israel Ambassador, Latest Shoe Throwing Target (VIDEO)

Israel's ambassador to Sweden is the latest politician to fall victim to a shoe thrower, reports the Jerusalem Post.

Ambassador Benny Dagan was addressing students at Stockholm University, where he had been invited to speak on the upcoming elections in Israel, when a young woman in the audience hurled a shoe at him, hitting him in the chest.

According to a statement by the International Solidarity Movement (ISM) who had members at the scene, the woman, along with a young man, then shouted "Murderers!" and "Intifada!" while pelting Dagan with books and a notepad.

Police arrested two people, a 35-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, immediately after the incident, reports Sweden's The Local.

This is the third shoe-throwing incident recently. Former US President Bush was targeted by a shoe thrower on a visit to Iraq in December and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao was targeted during a speech at Cambridge University earlier this month.
