Katie Couric To Model At Fashion Week

CBS anchor extraordinaire Katie Couric will walk down the runway for the February 13th Heart Truth Red Dress Collection in Bryant Park.

According to WWD:

The CBS news anchor will wear a Carmen Marc Valvo dress, but she won't be the only Boomer strutting her stuff. Lynda "Wonder Woman" Carter will don a Carolina Herrera design, and Valerie Bertinelli will go with a Christian Siriano number. Long lost "90210" classmates Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling will reunite for Badgley Mischka and Betsey Johnson, respectively. Hilary Duff, Olympian Nastia Liukin and "Dancing With the Stars" Samantha Harris help round out the runway show cast.

Michelle Obama has yet to RSVP.

Television is no longer producing anything close to real news. Time was we could tune in to the news and come away with some real understanding of the days events. Now we get posturing and posing with a healthy dose of gossip packaged neatly around as much advertising as possible. Newsreaders with no shame and no real understanding of world events saying and doing anything for ratings, makes one wonder why prostitution is illegal.

Oh dear...Another celebrity trying to walk the catwalk.

I remember some time back when Sharon Stone got up there for Valentino....It was pathetic.

Why? Because Actors and Celebrities crave our attention and are desperate for us to love them....Models don't give a hoot what you think...they've got it and you cant have it....Its a subtle but important difference.

Just when she's getting some credibility, Katie Couric decides it's more important for everyone to remember how cute she is than that she is serious about reporting the news.

I wonder if there will ever be a day when the television news media starts selecting women for their intelligence rather than their ability to walk a run way or execute a herkie.

Because we believe that news should be news. I can't take an anchor seriously if she is strutting around on a catwalk. I am college educated and an intellectual. I expect the people who bring me the news to not be out making headlines. Couric has the journalistic credibility of Opie and Anthony.

If you take ANYONE too seriously that makes over 100K in the media, let alone 5-15 million dollars a year, then you sir have serious MSM blinders on.

Katie, along with every other major anchor make between 1-15 million a year, that includes folks like Contessa Brewer and Dave Shuster.

They don't need to be serious, respected, loved or hated, they need ratings, viewership, and ad buys.

I would hope by now most of my fellow liberals would have matured to the reality of the media.

The media is a institution that has been around as long as prostitution, those who "fight" it lose, those who understand it then use/manipulate it win.
