WASHINGTON — Republican Sen. John McCain says that Democratic lawmakers putting together an economic stimulus plan are no more open to input from the opposing party than the GOP was during the Bush administration.

The Arizona Republican says that he thought there was going to be a change in the tone of partisanship in Washington when the Obama administration took over, but he adds that he's not seeing it.

McCain says he favors an economic stimulus bill about half the size of the $820 billion package the Democrats favor.

McCain says that Democrats are building up a national debt that is going to hamper the economy in the future and require the next generation to pay it down.

Last year's GOP presidential nominee appeared Sunday on the CBS program "Face the Nation."

As Ohio Sec of State Blackwell stated that the republicans must stop the process of the democrats for the sake of the Republican Party. Next 200, 000 signatures received by McCain asking him to stop the democratic process for fear that President Obama and his team of hope will be successful. And the behind the signatures that McCain had received were underline messages that some are not willing kill their cultural positions of hate and other disturbances. The collection of 200, 000 signatures is a DA-A moment …Listen the fact the people voted and won and if McCain and other republicans are not willing to listen then we should encourage others in the state of their representation -remove them from office and tell them thank you but no thank you. We understand this mess took years to develop so we need patience to get rid of this mess…sponsor a bill that support the efforts of stimulus involve this government in job creating for many CEO’s do not understand why they should care about us when they keep hearing from those that are tried of the problem but are defeated and will allow them to be in business as usual…regulation is needed and more control from the people will mean more jobs to handle the paperwork and computer etc…

John McCain is not a voice of reason, he is merely another lunatic standing aboard the Titanic trying to maintain the status quo with life boats for his friends, pushing bad ideas at a time of national crisis, while the American ship is on the verge of sinking. The GOP is the defender of what Paul Krugman has called The Madoff Economy and folks like McCain are battling to perpetuate it while posturizing as conservatively trying to protect the average citizen. He sees the rest of American citizens as the folks in steerage who should fend for themselves in the streets if they have to. McCain's intellectual dishonesty is eclipsed only by his stubborn stupidity in making the same old tired arguments that he has memorized to sell the supply side myth that you can eliminate taxes on the upper classes, engage in unlimited miltary spending, cut investment in every sector of the economy that does not benefit one of his constituent groups, balance the budget, have record surplus and enough will trickle down to the little people and we will all be happy. This is the great lie of supply side economics and the American people rejected it by electing Barack Obama as our President and giving him a mandate for change

President Obama and the Democrats should sell the package by tracing a particular expenditure from its origin to the worker or class of workers it is targeted. This is the most effective why to sell the stimulas spending as being a direct aid to the needy.

It is time to start priming the pump and investing in American infrastructure and society. What is the point of Rebuilding Afghanistan or spreading Democracy in the Middle East if our society implodes? Why is building up other countries and military interventionism always a wise expenditure for Hawks but investing in America from the bottom up always perceived as needless spending? McCain has no brain. He is a heartless shill for America's Aristocracy.

In McCain, you see a very rich man who has no compassion for the poor. That is why he is best suited to be a Republican. What I have always wondered, is why the poor caucasion, uneducated, blindly follow the Republican elites who after calling on them to win elections, move on with no regard for them whatsoever. Remember drill baby drill? Remember the idiom taxation as socialism? Remember the defense of the 2nd amendment? Remember right to life? We have heard none of these since the election came to an end. Not to worry, they will be dusted off and handed on a platter to the poor uneducated as the Republican platfom in the elections two y ears from now. In the meantime, President Obama and the Demcrats will wage the fight for the poor and the working class - including those uneducated working class Republicans.

The two party myth continues to dazzle voters with smoke and mirrors.

Vote for the Corporatist Republican Party!

Vote for the Corporatist Democratic Party!

Third party voting wastes your vote.

Oh, and always remember that Ron Paul is a loon!

Wake up people! Vote outside the box. Vote for YOUR interests and not the Corporatist agenda, and YOUR interests are only represented by the Constitution of the United States of America.

Peace
Love
Revolution

Well, John did say the fundamentals of the economy are sound, even though it was sufficiently bad to suspend his campaign and go back to Washington and do nothing. Yes, John, we really value YOUR opinion on the economy. Go back to one of your houses and be really, really quiet so as to not embarrass yourself.

The Republicans believe that the role of government is to maintain a standing army to defend against enemies without. This belief has been expanded as far as military purpose is concerned. Now, the army the Republicans believe as their exclusive role, is to spead Democracy throughout the world by conquests of opposing government and nation building. This is why for the past eight years the Bush Republicans directed a large portion of our wealth to the war in Iraq. While Bush prosecuted the war, the Republican congress while in power provided unlimited funding; while in the minority, used the filibuster in conjunction with Bush's veto pen to maintain that funding. During the campaign, our new President presented us with a different role for the government; to assist the people in need of help. Given the Republican's view of government, it is little wonder why they are suddenly concerned over spending and deficits. Had McCain won, Iraq and that war would have continued to be our focus, while the people would have been handed over to the private sector to solve all of their ills.

The debt is a major problem. No one seems to remember or to even know that G W Bush added 6 trillion to the US national debt by started illegal wars and by giving away corporate tax rebates.

You folks do realize that John McCain has admitted that the republicans completely ignored the democrats for the last 8 years, right? He has pretty much confirmed what has been going on that the republicans didn't want to admit.

how about if all those congressfolk and legislators in dissent of the stimulous just tell our president to subtract any funds that would go to their state from the stimulous bill..they would be really standing up for their supporters plus it would guarantee even more dem seats in 2 years! ;-)

Great idea! That leaves more for the others. However, down in Texas with Cornyn, we would not get anything! I voted against him and will do it again, but sadly not for years.
