Brad Pitt's "Inglourious Basterds" Trailer (VIDEO)

The official trailer for "Inglourious Basterds," the Quentin Tarantino WWII flick starring Brad Pitt that has been filming in Germany, debuted online Wednesday.

As seen in the clip the movie will feature lots of blood and violence and Pitt's character, with a thick Southern accent, is out for Nazi scalps.

The movie will debut at Cannes in May and has its US opening in August. It costars Mike Myers, Cloris Leachman, Sam Jackson and Diane Kruger.

I love QT, but he is not for everyone. Personally I think Brad is a very good actor. He has done a variety of movies, 12 Monkeys (Great), Interview with Vampire, River Runs through it, and on and on - Fight Club. He has played a variety of roles. His accent in this is supposed to be a little over the top. You have to be familiar with QT who is not what I would call conventional. I like his movies and Brad - this may be fun.

I don't think Pitt is THAT much of an actor, but come on. How could you possibly miss so many films? :/ In fairness, I'm asking on an assumption that QT fans tend to be film geeks and they often are.

Brad Pitt, in my opinion, is a stiff actor with rare exceptions. He was good in the Vampire movie and Legends of the Fall. Quentin Tarantino is a genius with the edgy film. Maybe he can bring the best out in Pitt.

I read the screenplay for this a while ago. It was available on some websites but was promptly taken down at the request of the Weinstein Co.

Anyway, without spoiling anything, the movie is about more than just Americans going after Nazi scalps. That's really only half the plot.

All in all, if the movie is anything like the screenplay, then it should be fun.

I was all prepared to not like this movie, especially after "Death Proof". But Tarantino is a master at making "guilty pleasures" and this movie, by the looks of this preview, may be a fun ride.

In the meentime the Soviets who BTW won WWII by fighting their way into Hitlers bunker to pick over his charred corpse and in the process gave up 30 million casualties and inflicted 80% of the casualties suffrered by the Wermarcht over 5 years of the most grueling battles and civilian casualties humanity has ever recorded .......and for all that they get about 1 token movie out of Holywood in the last 50 years .

"Suspension of disbelief" is a literary plea of nolo contendere. It essentially means "I know it's a crock, but just go with me on it." INDEPENDENCE DAY may be just summer-blockbuster hooey, but I can cite hard real-world facts that make the craziness believable.
