Sarah Palin Kicks Off Iron Dog Snowmobile Race (SLIDESHOW)

On Sunday, Governor Sarah Palin, who turns 45 today, along with daughter Piper and baby son Trig, helped kick off the 2009 Iron Dog Snowmobile race in Big Lake, Alaska. Palin's husband Todd, as you may have heard during the 2008 Presidential race, is an avid participant.

The race runs across Alaska from Big Lake to Nome and finishes in Fairbanks on Saturday February 14th.

7-year-old daughter Piper Palin, forever fashionable, wore a pink plaid fur-lined hat...no word on whether it was faux.
