Jeff Frederick, Twitter Idiot, Yells At Darwin

First Posted: 3/16/09 Updated: 5/25/11

Oh, people, surely you remember this dingbat Jeff Frederick from the other day? He's the guy who blew up the Virginia GOP's carefully crafted secret plan to seize control of the Virginia State Senate by Twittering about it, thus tipping off the Democrats? Oh, man, but this guy is a blue ribbon winning fool. Well, in case you were wondering what he was up to yesterday, wonder no more! He was taking to floor of the Virginia House of Delegates to yell at Charles Darwin, because evolution killed God. Luckily, Abraham Lincoln put the word "God" on some money! Or something! His fellow delegates jeer at Frederick sarcastically, and if you watch, pay note to the way the two guys in the foreground of the video could not possibly care less about what he's saying.

Ultimately though, this places Darwin on shaky ground, because there's no way this guy should be surviving the process of natural selection.

Why and how do lame brains like this guy get any attention? His "speech" was about as instructive and poignant as halve truths which it was. Men are created equal as far as their humanity is concerned. But we just have to look around to see that humans excel and learn and achieve at different rates and levels. It's a fact. And we have to respect this man's humanity but he makes it clear he isn't learning or achieving at a very high level. He's stuck on the very base level of bigotry and stupidity. And that is why he cannot have any higher glance at a notion of embracing theories that free people from ignorance. He is simpleminded to the point of intellectual blindness. He's a f..ckin' goofball !!

Once again, Jeff Frederick proves that he is a worthy successor to George Allen and Eric Cantor's brand of Virginia Republicanism.

Y'know, maybe Darwin was wrong after all. According to his assertions, natural selection ensures that the most able species survive. Were that true, this dum-dum would have died out a long time ago.

Speaking of Lincoln, Darwin and Lincoln were born the same day, same year.

In Jeff Frederick’s attempt at a speech, he tries to utilize the divisive Bush tactic of, you are either with us or against us. He does this, by pointing out that Darwin said that some people are more evolved than others, and that Atheists have used evolution to disprove the existence of God. These facts contradict the American dogma of, all men being “created equal”, and “in God we trust”. Fredrick would have you believe that this contradiction makes Darwin loving Atheists, un-American. So, the average mainstream moderate Christian politician is faced with two oppositions, fundamentalist Christians and Atheist “science lovers”. One of the two is not only necessary, but indispensable. Choose wisely.

So are you agreeing with that tripe, attempting to interpret it, just reporting it... what?

It is nowhere stated in Darwin's work that "some people are more evolved than others." But only the most generously charitable person could avoid saying so after experiencing the futility of attempting conversation with a member of the Reich Wing.

It is not true that "Atheists have used evolution to disprove the existence of God." It is impossible to disprove a negative. If anything, the Darwin's theory of evolution indicts a particular interpretation of scripture.

Since Frederick's so-called "facts" are not facts, the proffered conclusion is invalidated.

It is not science and Christianity that are in opposition... nor is it Darwinian evolution and Christianity that are in opposition. It is science and anti-science which are in opposition... fundamentalist Christians on the anti-science side and everyone else on the other.

Between science and anti-science, which would you say is indispensable?
10:04 AM on 02/15/2009
Uoo, Uoo, I know it's um......Science! Well, that is unless there is something that makes science bad then I guess ya gotta go with anti-science..... I think.....or feel. WAIT! Who makes more dough, science or anti-science? Cuz money talks and bull---- walks. Yeah, that's a great gage. Oh, I don't know. So much pressure.
Sorry I get so confused with all this division. I wish my choices were easier.
Hugs and kisses

Those who denounce Darwin and his theory of evolution often like to point out that, evolution is only a theory. These are the type of people who believe that the earth is about ten thousand years old, and take the stories in the Bible literally. These people have been around since America’s beginning and will be around until its end. They provide opposition to logical, informed, truly enlightened Americans, but unlike most opposition, they bring nothing valuable to the table. They are a minority in the Christian community, but for some reason, a powerful minority. Whether fundamentalist Christians like it or not, evolution is one of the strongest theories in modern science, and is considered, much like gravity, to be a fact. Those who denounce Darwin, embrace ignorance under the guise of religion. One can be, both a believer in God, and recognize validity of the theory of evolution. Fundamentalism is the real enemy of evolution, as well as the enemy of scientific and rational thought.

Realization of "God" or a spiritual force greater than man, is not a process by which you boost your ego, and lord your beliefs over others, it is a humble contemplation of the totality of existence, and our place in it. Each of us, as independent souls, have personal connections to the infinite, and thus billions of perspectives on its variety and implicit complexity.

Those that proclaim knowledge and force their "God" on others, seldom know transcendence.

Those that epitomize love, humility and compassion, might.

Here's a another big problem with Jeff Frederick's smug pointless rant. Lincoln was not known as a religious man. So much so that his quotes are listed on atheist web sites and he is commonly regarded as such by many people.

As a general rule Mr. Frederick does not seem to know what he is talking about.

True, but Lincoln fooled a lot of people about that or maybe atheists were bolder back then. Besides, the capitol of the CSA was in Richmond, Va. Va has produced few men like Tom Jefferson & face it, regardless of his fine words, Jefferson kept slaves. Va avoids electing literate people as a rule. There are exceptions, such as Sen Webb but Sen Webb isn't Tom Jefferson. We have a right to be thankful for that.

What is to be, will be, and no prayers of ours can arrest the decree.
-- Abraham Lincoln, quoted by Mary Todd Lincoln in William Herndon's Religion of Lincoln, quoted from Franklin Steiner, The Religious Beleifs of Our Presidents, p. 118

It will not do to investigate the subject of religion too closely, as it is apt to lead to Infidelity.
-- Abraham Lincoln, Manford's Magazine, quoted from Franklin Steiner, The Religious Beliefs of Our Presidents, p. 144

The Bible is not my book nor Christianity my profession.
-- Abraham Lincoln, quoted by Joseph Lewis in "Lincoln the Freethinker"

The only person who is a worse liar than a faith healer is his patient.
-- Abraham Lincoln, quoted by Victor J Stenger in Physics and Psychics

Both read the same Bible and pray to the same God, and each invokes his aid against the other. It may seem strange that any men should dare to ask a just God's assistance in wringing their bread from the sweat of other men's faces, but let us judge not that we be not judged.
-- Abraham Lincoln, sarcasm in his Second Innaugural Address (1865)

The United States government must not undertake to run the Churches. When an individual, in the Church or out of it, becomes dangerous to the public interest he must be checked.
-- Abraham Lincoln, regarding the Churches, quoted from Franklin Steiner, The Religious Beliefs of Our Presidents, p. 143
