I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Alec Baldwin hosted SNL this week with musical guest The Jonas Brothers, who also joined Baldwin for a skit and starred in the Digital Short.

The show opening was a deluded Republican strategy session, seen here.

During his monologue, Baldwin took a moment for a message.

"I want to say, thank you Christian Bale, who has replaced me as the person most synonymous with recorded celebrity meltdown. Thank you Christian."

He then called on fellow "30 Rock" cast member Kenneth the Page player Jack McBrayer, sitting in the audience, who proved to be more popular than Baldwin.

Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas were featured in the first skit, about the fourth Jonas Brother, played by a sax-toting, scarf-wearing Alec Baldwin, who's getting voted out.

The skit poked fun at the Brothers, as Baldwin says of Joe, "He's not one of us, he has straight hair and his eyebrows look like they were drawn on with a Sharpie," and highlights their purity rings

The skits with JB are so funny. They are hilarious and extremely talented.

the wii sketch was funny on the most base level
but at least it was funny.
i can't say that for the rest.
the jonas brothers are completely talentless.
the cougar sketch was offensive on multiple levels
and the entire show was devoid of an actual joke.

Alec Baldwin is a national treasure.

I think it is very clear which JoBro is gay.

The show had its funny moments, although the writing gets a little lazy at times (e.g., Sir Mix-a-Lot skit). To me, the funniest part was the "Bitchpleeze" bit. It had the right amount of irony and satire. I wasn't disappointed.

Admittedly, I'm not a teenage girl, but I'm still a female who appreciates cute boys. And I just do not get the appeal of these Jonas Brothers at all. They have zero sex appeal, and as evidenced last night, they can neither act nor sing very well.

So I have no choice but to conclude that they--along with Miley Montana--were cultivated in a secret Disney laboratory to be used in the mass hypnosis of American tween and teen girls. There is no other logical explanation.

Fortunately, I TiVo'd the show last night...I tried to watch the skits and the singing of the Jonas Brothers and couldn't finish a song...I wanted to hear and see what all the hoopla was about and discovered that I don't care for them at all. But this is just my opinion. As for SNL last night as a whole I think the show sucked from beginning to end. The Sir-Mix- A- Lot was just okay for me...The Weekend update was probably the best out of everything.

The Wii sketch was really funny, as was the Vincent Price sketch. After seeing the Jonas Brothers perform , I'm at a complete loss at why they are popular. It's obviously not due to their singing ability since they don't have any; and they might want to look into buying three personalities while they're at it.

/end snark

The Wii Sketch started off funny but then it kinda got a lil gross for me with the dad, his sons and then the mom! I think they kinda took it too far. It was funny though.

I also thought it was gross.

I dvr'ed this because I love Alec Baldwin and it just reminded me of why I stopped watching SNL years. And it's not funny to make fun of Helen Thomas! That's what O'Reilly was doing for pity's sake. I hope I am going that strong if I make it to her age.
