Joe Scarborough Tries To Break The Ice With Mika Brzezinski's Father After Their December On-Air Fight (VIDEO)

Huffington Post   First Posted: 3/20/09 Updated: 5/25/11

MSNBC host Joe Scarborough had co-host Mika Brzezinski's father, Dr. Brzezinski, back on his program after the former National Security Advisor had called him "stunningly superficial" in December. Brzezinski's poor daughter sat there squirming while her father and Scarborough had it out on national television.

This morning, Scarborough tried to break the ice by telling Dr. Brzezinski that his daughter has been wearing a sweatshirt that reads, "stunningly superficial." Fortunately or unfortunately for her, Mika Brzezinski wasn't around to defend her fashion choices or help make amends.

Morning Joke is the worst thing on MSNBC. Replace him with Dan Abrams, NOW!

Seriously, Zbigniew Brzezinski gives the REAL answer to the economic situation (mortification of the obscenely wealthy, an honor AND duty). He has said what should be declared in concert by us all and the focus is on frivolity? Really?

I think Joe makes some really great and valid points at times, even when i don't even agree with him. So it's rather unfair that many of you would be so quick to call the old dude dumb or arrogant or say that he needs to be kicked off the show. I happen to watch the show from time to time and there have been many instances in which he has said things that i completely disagree with however, in those instances he still made valid points....

Unlike most other networks with talking heads, I do believe that Morning Joe tends to be fairly middle of the road for the most part. So some of you just need to come off it, especially if you call yourselves open-minded progressives.

Morning Joe is unarmed in this battle of brains.

It was great when Mikas father said that! Joe is very arrogant and treats Mika as if she is some kind of puppet! Instead of Mika making her faces at Joe she should just put this guy in his place! I think that's one of the reasons her father did that! He sees how his daughter is treated on that show! Joe is known for his sulking and walking off of show when someone disagrees or puts him in his place! Can you imagine having to live with someone like that? Eww

Joe should have "stunningly superficial" engraved on his business card. It would be the most honest thing he could say....

Look, I'm no fan of Morning Joe, I watch it every now and then. I happened to see the blow up that wasn mentioned in this article. In regard to "get him off the air" Jeez....Just change the freakin channel, you guys make it sound like your televison is stuck on MSNBC, and you are a "victim" of whatever happens to be on the air in the morning. There are choices. There is a remote. Use It.

To call Joe Scarborough "stunningly superficial" is being complimentary.

Your coverage of this episode of Morning Joe is stunningly superficial. The content of their discussion is very important where a great idea by Brezinski that merits a lot more discussion in the press and by pundits. Social responsibility is a great idea that should be discussed with some sort of follow-up. Class warfare is prevented by the sheer existence of a strong middle class. As the middle class suffers and shrinks, the ingredients for social unrest start getting mixed together with a potential disastrous result.

Look at China. their leadership has been desperately trying to develop a middle class to offset the poverty stricken people in the countryside to avoid a new "civil war" there.

What Brzezinski didn't say is that there is a third thought. People home in America and people all over the world see the American military parked all over the planet as an arm of Imperialism. Purely there to clear the path of profit for the corporations. The corporations have usurped our nation, they have laid us low so that we can't defend our country from them. Corporations need to be brought down in America. They are NOT CITIZENS OF OUR COUNTRY. IF THEY CONTINUE TO INSIST THAT THEY ARE THEN THEY ARE TRAITORS.

Regarding MSNBC's Morning Joe.

I am always amused when talking heads like willy geist refer to themselves as journalists (feb 17, 2009 show). According to The American Heritage Dictionary willy geist is a newscaster, as are all the other members of the show. I have yet to listen to or watch a show when joe or "mika the diva" or willy have read anything they have written.

I stopped watching Morning Joe a long time ago, can't stand arrogant Joe and Airhead Mika. Her father is so intellegant, what happened to her?
11:19 AM on 02/18/2009
Every time I post anything about that airhead Mika, my comments are intercepted. She IS useless and dull! Joe is an arrogant blathering !d!ot, and their frequent guest Pat Bu-bullsh!t talks out of both sides of his mouth! Mika's father must NOTreally be her biological father!
